Hi Caroline i stumbled across a video last night of an huge orcastra and a lady at the front that looked like she was playing somthing but could not for the life of me work out what on earth it was, (after watching it 10+ times) Still couldn't see what was in her hands 🤯 so I sent the video to magnetica an uploader to KZbin that makes electrical lights and radio signals, He gave me the name of this instrument, I searched theremin on KZbin came across 1st video Rob Scallon and you was on "I now feel educated" 😁 I have fallen in love with the theremin, But I'm left handed so typed left handed theremin and your video here was the first I've found I'm going to now sub to 💕 ... I want a theremin so much I've just found some on Amazon but I'm sceptical ... Could you please please guide me to one that I can buy, and then add to what you have, I see it on the Rob scallons video where you explain the theremin plays in mono so you added somthing? So it doesn't just play in mono, I am so impressed and really want to find one but I would love your expert advice! Could you please point me in the right direction in purchasing a theremin and where, I hope i can get it sent to me as I'm still in lockdown because of my health issues I can't go out far, due to the covid virus .. Thank you 💕

You're as cold as Iceland. No just joking. I never would have thought that the theremin is a 'serious' instrument (not just for special sound effects) before I discovered your videos. Btw: Have you ever tried to combine the theremin with effect pedals or the like (like the ones guitar players use)? It would be really fascinating to see you experiment with that.

I have a question: the inventor of the theremin was a cellist? Why don’t you use your left hand for pitch and right hand for rythm? For me as a viola player it would be easier to learn that way? I love your work by the way and want to learn how to play!

Are you left handed? As a right handed guitar player, I think I would want my left hand to choose notes and right hand to control volume

I tried this instrument in guitar center and I feel extremely awkward using my right hand for pitch, and left for volume. Is there a reverse so I could have pitch with my left and the volume for my right? Can't find one anywhere.

Yes! Some thereminists play it turned around. It doesn't make any difference, except for not being able to see the knob's panel while playing.
