A maneira dele de aplicar socos movimentando os braços de um lado para outro, parecendo um João Bobo, está totalmente descartada hoje. Ele não jogava um jab, hook, uppercut, cruzado; era só o bração de um lado pra outro. O Poatan não se cansa durante a luta porque é um cara extremamente técnico. Movimenta na base o tempo todo, não desperdiça energia com golpes inúteis.
