The short itself was filmed a while ago, and Ted was unable to travel to Hong Kong with Phil and Wes because he had a business meeting of such (was explained in one of the WFW).

Naw, the last names were just coincidence. Wong Fu was Phil's nickname. I think it was meant to be ironic because Wong means king and Fu is a character for farmer?

The short was just sooo amazing and yes it did have a Miyazaki feel to it :3 and I loved the music composition and lol at the 3 levels of translation. I can only fully understand Mandarin and English. Cantonese is a so so, but the translation was amazing for the most part! :D SPECTACULAR JOB! :D

Wes , is an inspirational human and no one is like him. He is an artist . Phillip , is a helping hand, and funny . Ted is rich but he acts like a normal asian . So I think that everyone combined equals inspiration . Wong Fu 4 Life , :) .

I'm just going by my memory here, so don't take my word for it: Phil and Wes initially didn't know each other but mutually knew Ted so they started doing projects together in college. They said that during a WFW at their old college. But the nickname 'Wong Fu' given to Phil in high school/college was bc he was... Asian...? Idek. That's how I thought WongFu started... Wikipedia seems to back me up on this LOL the most reliable source out there xD

Phil and Ted speak Mandarin. At least with Ted I'm gonna assume Mandarin, unless he speaks Taiwanese. Wes speaks Cantonese. Mandarin and Cantonese are Chinese dialects.
