Popstar Pink has gone on a “little tantrum” and doubled down on a lie she spread through a tweet even after being fact checked, says Sky News host Rita Panahi.
The singer took to X to tweet about an alleged banning of various books in Florida.
“It was of course a lie, there was a lie that was circulated widely, thanks to that tweet from Pink,” Ms Panahi said.
“But that didn’t stop Community Notes from fact-checking her.
“But guess what happened? Instead of apologising, instead of just, I don’t know, deleting the false tweet, she doubled down with this little tantrum about the MAGA cult getting all mad."

'1984' was literally assigned reading when I was in high school, and I went to Catholic High School here in Little Rock. I certainly don't think kids under 13 should read it, mainly because they're not old enough to truly understand the deeper implications, but it's definitely not an issue for high school students.

There is a difference between leather boots and fur. Cows are humanely killed before they go to slaughter. Animals raised for fur are often clubbed to death so as not to get blood on the precious fur. It's nonsensical to say he was less "valid" as a politician because he was once an actor. It's like saying Lincoln shouldn't have been taken seriously because he was once a postman. Donald Trump was a real estate tycoon and extremely successful businessman for literally decades before he became a "celebrity." His celebrity status was as a result of his achievements in the field of business. He wasn't some random nobody who was just hired one day to be the host of The Apprentice. He was offered the role of host on the Apprentice precisely because of his status and credentials in the business world (same with the original UK version of the show and its host, Alan Sugar). Saying Donald Trump was "a celebrity who became President" is a low-resolution statement because it ignores everything else about the guy. Very few people who voted for him did so because they liked him on the Apprentice. They voted for him because of his business chops, hoping he could run the country like one of his corporations. If Pink had spent 30 years being successful in a respectable field, or running several corporations, in addition to her stupid popstar "work" then there would be a justification in taking her words seriously.
