True centrist statements: -There are a bag of values that we apply based on any given situation. These values are conditioned to us through life experience, which incudes a slice of the history and inherited conflicts of humanity. In analysis we employ a hierarchy of conditioned values which forms the moral fabric of our society and our daily interactions. -Tolerance is only possible when you stand up for "intolerance". This "tolerance" and "intolerance" depend on the values of a society, it's something constantly being discussed. Importing other societies in mass and multicultiralism add another layer of complexity and conflicting values. We ourselves are often conflicted choosing between values to make the "right" choice. -Diversity is great and necessary. Closed societies don't benefit from the exchange of culture, but that's exactly what it is - an exchange, not a fusion. Fusion of two distinct cultures can result in massively conflicting values and morals. We can't forget how tribalistic we are, that's the number 1 function of identity. -Most important thing about logic is to know the axiom, that is what we usually choose by "irrationality" and "intuition", in other words emotion and gut feeling. To be a "Centrist" it's required to go beyond your axioms and being able to see two frameworks of distinct axioms. It's more than comparing conflicts and creating a third persperctive. -A true centrist knows there is no center. "Right", "Center", "Left" are just parties with a philosophy associated to distinct value hierarchy.

47:35 To add a bit of sparkle to this comment , I see there is a general misunderstanding of individualism. Individualism is a foundational idea of liberalism, while collectivism is foundational to conservatism and socialism/communism. There is a lot of funny contradictions in the modern right wing spouting about individualism and freedom while at the same time talking about the degradation of the moral framework of society or corrupting the definition of family which are fundamentally collectivists ideas. And you kind of fall into this but not completely. The idea of family isn't conservative for example but the idea of maintaining a specific form of family and defending that institution is very much a conservative position. Modern day conservatives have a big worry of maintaining the "traditional family" of two hetero sexual parents and their kids this is where ideas like being against gay marriage or homoparental adoption are born, as they are perceived as an attack on the "traditional" form of family. This type of paradox is very common within American conservatives with their cult like adoption of american values like freedom, while at the same time defending things that aim to limit those freedoms with the goal of defending the morality of the nation. This btw is why I am a hater against people who identify as economically liberal and socially conservative as they are fundamentally contradictory ideas.

Some of the reason these political content creators are effective is because they are not building themselves into a broader org. The social capital they is predicated on not being beholden to any larger structure. If they become “effective” they will lose some of what their audience goes to them for. Beyond that I think you may give Destiny more credit for him making a real difference in the voter base. I think it is reasonably probable that Destiny has turned more people away from voting Democrat than he has brought in. This wouldnt be reflected with his core audience but with casual viewers or those who came upon his content somehow, and I wouldn’t be surprised if his rigidity and analysis of anyone who is was on the fence about Kamala or Biden sent more people to trump than he was able to get to vote for dems.

In practice the difference between thought and feeling, if can you explain it. For example, if I say, "I have a bad feeling about that guy", and you say, "what to you mean", and I say, "I don't know, something just seems off about him", then that would seem a lot like what most people would call a feeling. Alternatively, if I say, "I have a bad feeling about that guy", and you ask, "what do you mean?", and I say, "Well I just saw him slap that small child across the face several times", then that seems less like a bad free, and more like I have a specific issue with with based on a specific thing he did. I think feelings come for a need to respond to thing in life faster then our brain to translate data input. Or maybe more accurately put, in human history, those of us who acted on feelings before we could fully explain them, survived better and/or procreated more. It's better to be afraid it's a tiger and run when the tall grass shakes, and be wrong 99 time but right once, than to not be afraid it's a tiger and not run, an be right 99 times and wrong once.

@napakapa1046Күн бұрын
I would suggest that voting for Harris in a solid blue state or a solid red state for that matter, if the paslestinian issue motivates you, would be very strange. Battleground states are a bit of a tougher call i have to be honest. For some reason, democrats care about voters who wouldn't typically vote for them (never trumpers, centrists, independents, women in republican families) so by that logic, they could be pulled to adopting/moving towards green party stances even if only to cynically steal voters back. My 2 cents.
