Outstanding playing, you are so talented, love when you bend the note with the tremolo arm,

Truly stupendous. You hold your own with the guitar legends who've played this classic. Listening with eyes closed, I could swear there were two, sometimes three guitars playing. Respects, and God bless you.

thank you! i use to play the song in A minor as everybody else did until one day I was playing in drop D tuning and started banjo pickin the tune as fast as I could go. Decided to make a backing track in Dm and added some string synths and picked up the tempo. Decided I didn't need to drop the low E to D and said I needed to play all over the neck in the empty spots. Took a while to fit everything in smoothly, but practice makes it smoother. This video was right after I put the song together. I also have an acoustic version of this up on youtube. Thanks again

I need to add another comment. This song seems to be played in the key of Am all the time, after hearing your rendition in the key of Dm even though it is against the status quo, I must admit , I LIKE IT !! I LOVE IT ! Once again thanks for sharing your talent and creativity !
@leftyjaysmith7 ай бұрын
Yes, I use to play this song in Am in the style of Duane Eddy. Very spaghetti western style. They I wanted to pick up the tempo and make it special by adding banjo style runs between the melody. It is so much easier to play the pull off/ hammer-ons in the key of Dm. And yes, nobody else is playing this song in Dm. Have to think outside the box sometimes. Have you heard my Acoustic version of this song. I seem to get more requests for this song on my acoustic. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJSXYWyfgdmMgaMsi=lhUgGT6TlGyU-LR4

I started picking up the guitar when I was 5. My big brother was my influence. He loved the Ventures and had all the "play with the Ventures" albums. I love many styles of guitar. They all help in making your own unique sound. Glad you enjoyed my videos
@steve60.7 ай бұрын
@@leftyjaysmith Thanks for the response, I have unfortunately allowed myself to get involved with a lot of other styles of guitar which took me in too many directions and spread myself too thin. So I guess it's time to get back to my guitar roots and the stuff that made me pick up the guitar in the first place, which was pretty much The Ventures. I think Chet Atkins said listen to all kinds of music, and I'm sure that's good advise however it does derail your focus. And in my case anyway, makes me a jack of all trades and master of none.
@steve60.5 ай бұрын
@@leftyjaysmith I also had all the Play Guitar Like The Ventures albums , and The Ventures are pretty much what started me on guitar. Unfortunately, we had some flooding and the albums got damaged. I also had play guitar like Chet Atkins. Those were the days my friend, I thought they'd never end.
