The time for Aloy has come! We finally jumped on the bandwagon and started to build a costume from Horizon Zero Dawn, the Shadow Stalwart Heavy set. It's definitely the most bad-ass armor in the game and a huge challenge for us! Guess we really have to up our game for this one! This will be fun! First up: the leg and shoe armor! :)

Hello, I say this because I care. Laser cutting styrene produces gases that can be very toxic if not properly ventilated. Even some ventilated laser cutters shouldn't be used to cut styrene. Please be safe peeps! Aside from that, Kamui, you're amazing, always a top place I go to when looking for cosplay fabrication advice xx

crafting, sewing...you did everything. I just...out of words. is there anything in this cosplay-making thing that you can't do? I'm a maker too, a nood one. I did all my weapons and armor making, but always ask my friend about the "cloth" part and everything that involved sewing and such. really...highest compliment for you. and you're a dog-person, which really makes you more loveable!

Although I havent been able to cosplay like I would like, I DO do medieval historical re-enactment. For your plastic boning you use, Might I recommend using industrial sized zip ties. They can be found at most hardware stores. My wife uses them for boning for her corsets. Just cut off the zip part, cut to length and round the ends then melt the ends with some heat. Try it! Its MUCH CHEAPER than plastic boning and holds up very well too.

this build is so awesome!! Also, in case you have not heard of it, there is a product called "XTC-3D". It's a brush on resin that can cure in 15 minutes (with a heat gun) and it eliminates so much work when finishing 3d prints and warbla pieces! I just got a printer myself, it's so much fun to play with.

I've been waiting for this. :D HZD is one of the first good games in a long time and watching you make all like this makes me wish I had the proper tools to make it myself. Doing that armor with no 3d printer. XD For the toe caps on the front of your boots are they secured with anything else besides the elastic on the bottom of the shoe? I've done some armor in the past similar with just the elastic on the bottom of the shoe and after walking they always start coming off.
