Dont taunt the Croc ! Today Fred the Croc came to the boat ramp and feast on some lobsters.While feasting a reckless boater puts his leg in the water not even 2 feet away from Fred.

Actually Fred is well fed with the scraps and free cut up fish plus the area is full of snook and Tarpon a medium to large fish. So being as Fred is well feed an attack is unlikely but to your point the Possible danger is very real. Crocodilians are more aggressive then fresh water Alligators.

Fred is of a very old clan. He can feed himself. One day someone will possibly benefit this prehistoric beast with their lives because of feeding the crock so near the marina. Remember that day a kid did a backwards flip into the water from a boat. Well, I have exhausted my argument for easy food. People feed sharks only a few hundred yards or a mile off shore brings them closer and people get hurt or worse.

People don't realize that an American Crocodile can propel themselves 5 feet plus out of the water with thier tails, and these small kids at the edge of the dock or at the side of the boat are in harms way. All the crock has to do is launch up grab someones leg or ankle and it's all over.

@@karlaruter3221 I understand all of that. But Fred in particular seems to be stalking the boat ramp. Aren't crocs typically somewhat reclusive? It seems like only a matter of time before he injures or kills someone, and then the authorities are going to kill him anyhow. They do sometimes attempt relocations of crocodiles. We even relocate bears sometimes who get too comfortable around humans. It's not just to protect the humans.

I see a gator in the wild at least once a month and if I want to see 50 I just drive 30 minutes to Loop Rd in the Everglades. I also have a 11 footer that lives in the canal behind my house. I would never swim in there. Gator attacks are on the news frequently but feel free to be stupid so I can see you on the news too
