I am a proud individual who was posted from South West Africa (Namibia) to Omega in 1983/1984 with the leadership at the time and received my basic training in Namibia. That made me who I am today.

Thanks, brought back lots of memories from 1983/1984. I remember the one day we have to look for the "luislang" that was missing from the "ogies draad" cage - and found it in one of the stores. I coul still the smell on my hanfs when we caught it and brought it back to cage.

I was proud of the way we as a team rig out our kimbo to be livable and then surrounding area we planted small quick growing trees and a fence.

From the KDK area I could recall the time when we ordered the new R4 rifles to replace the R1 rifles. And my observation was when handing them out that the bushman were try to hold onto the R1 rifles for some reason unknown to me at the time.

1982 DP tiffie.. the worst was the piss motte and the period we had no water. what a great year with awesome comrades

Speaking about the snakes, I could recall a number of times where I have step aside for pufadder at night when I went to ablution block between kimbos.

I remember the siesta times when it were to hot to be operational - during summer times.

I will never forget the red-roman spiders that came to kimbos light at night and even when you walk to shower ablution area with your torch at night they will come moving to you.

Ek was nie 'n lid van 31 nie, maar van i Valsk. Bn. In 1981 het wyle Kmdnt Frans Botes vir my en 'n paar ander ouens gevra om lede van 31 daar op Omega te gaan oplei vir 'n paar statiese valskerm spronge. Is daar enige manne wat dit meegemaak het destyds?
