Utopia Sprawl really should have been in the deck. I know the card's not spectacular but you had multiple hands that were crying out for a turn 1 accelerant to be amazing. And so so many 5 drops. Cut one of those for Sprawl and the Reflecting Pool for a Forest and the deck would've been perfect.

Agree on Utopia Sprawl. It's a one mana ramp, played on a basic forest it's very hard to get 2-for-1 and if you have more than 1 land it effectively costs 0 because you recover the casting cost on the turn it is played. You can't say that about an elf, plus the elves are much easier to remove and also subject to mass removal like Damnation. Utopia Sprawl should have been in the deck

I love lsv, even when he's unwell. because he's gotta be unwell to pick a whirler rogue over a cradle in a basically monogreen deck sporting 4 dorks, whisperwood elemental and avenger of zendikar. had he picked it, he could have easily sided in emrakul all games and hard cast it. instead, he was grinded out and overpowered by garbage planewalkers decks that were worse. not to mention the various misplays he did that surprised even a bad player like me lol

This is the same experience I've had with the current legacy cube. A lot of the linear cube archetypes that have historically been strong feel really watered down this time around. For example - if I try to go mono green there just aren't as many one and two-drop accelerants as I'm used to seeing. On the other hand, there are lots of planeswalkers, so a lot of decks end up as some flavor of planeswalker midrange. I'm not an experienced cube drafter so maybe this is just me failing to navigate the new cube well. Going back to green, maybe it's meant to be played as a swarm strategy with the payoffs being Craterhoof Behemoth and Opposition and a couple other cards like that.

This is also similar to my experience, and I have played a lot of cube. I do think i just didn't adapt enough. One thing i did learn though, is that oblivion stone is one of the best cards you can have in this iteration.
