This museum visit had me shook for about two months after I went in January of 2020. And I’m Black so I thought I had read and seen most of our history. The way everything is presented in the museum is visceral, raw, and utterly life changing. My White husband literally broke down from the sheer magnitude of what he learned and saw.

Visited this museum last month in its new location in Montgomery, AL. There is so much rich content, the visual presentation is well crafted to evoke emotion and bring the past to life in the present. I read about information I have never heard about or truly known the extent of. It was a powerful experience, highly recommend others to visit.

Hello history buffs. Fellow buff here. I faintly remember a story about the first barrel bombing. It was in Texas. A police heli dropping barrels of gas on a residential neighborhood during a race riot. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I don’t see any evidence of that. The Wikipedia page makes claims about usage in Israel and Vietnam, but doesn’t seem to cite a source (the article cited at the end of the paragraph covers recent usage).

The truth about this nation's history is liberating, yet debilitating at the same time. It bothers me to see black people so loyal to Christianity, when you know it was forced upon them. Do we really believe coming from Africa, we were worshipping a white God? As black people, we have yet to come to terms with the truth. Those who enslaved us, made us into what we are today, it was a matter of life and death to conform. Not just us, the Native American people were forced to conform as well. Boarding schools were used to force Christianity on the Native American people, and remove their heritage, culture, and customs from existence. America will atone for it's heinous origins, by education, or by force.
