Lots of things you need an authorisation to do in France. For example, I looked into the possibility of owning a Tarantula. In the UK or some other EU countries, you can go to a pet shop or a show and buy one. In France, you need an authorisation from the Préfecture but you also need to pass an exam intended for breeders. You need to prove you can look after them. A good thing in a way but it makes it virtually impossible for anyone other than an expert to own one.

In French a water-diviner is a "sourcier" (source = spring). There are perhaps people with a similar gift for metal? 😉 I’ve never heard of such but you never know... I had a colleague who was so good at finding mislaid things - bags, books, folders etc - that it was uncanny and we said she had the talent of a "sourcière". But I don’t think she’s available for work in the Limousin. Bon courage. 👍😊

It works dowsing and also with a pendulum I actually found a silver coin. If they confiscate the rods then it is no big deal and pendulums are easily replaceable and a lot cheaper than a detector. So back to the Middle . Ages
