Have you seen our rotation? It's on Cashman for not ensuring that Boone and Blake have enough depth both in the minors and through savvy pickups (i.e. Zach Littell for us) to keep the Yanks rotation afloat.

the rays are perennially among the very best analytical teams in mlb. What they manage to do with a fraction of the Yankee payroll, never ceases to amaze me. Think about it: the very act of hiring auditors is a declaration that the current staff of the New York Yankees doesn't know what's wrong or how to fix it. So why would you not recognize that as a problem -- and why would you retain those employees, especially those at the top like Cashman?

"There aren't that many options, Don." What??? How about Theo Epstein, Brian Sabean, Jeff Luhnow (whom the Astros threw under the bus)? Don is absolutely right. Cashman and Boone both should be replaced: Cashman because of his awful money-wasting trades and long-term contracts (Michael, Don and Peter forgot about Hicks, it seems); and Boone because of the lack of fundamentals on the field and on the basepaths. And Eric Cressey's training regimen is manifestly a failure. Axe him, too.

Hey Michael, the Phillies, who are still in the thick of things, have had a guy hitting below .200 in the leadoff spot for the whole season. So in and on itself, the low average isn't necessarily the major issue. Maybe you did not notice, but the game of baseball has changed over the last 2 decades; a low BA with many strike outs is acceptable nowadays if OBP and power can compensate. The fact Stanton is hitting below .200 is surely not something you look for, but the bigger problem with Stanton is he can't stay healthy nor run, nor play decent outfield. So if he does play he clogs the DH spot on aged team that needs the DH spot to give some rest to other players as well. There is a good chance, in a couple of years, Judge will develop into the same kind of liability.....
@ralphe5184 Жыл бұрын

The Yankees need to pursue Bellinger or Soto. In my opinion, they should really go after Soto as hard as they can. Soto is a guy with a good attitude and a good approach at the plate, along with being a lefty bat with pop who plays a corner-outfield spot that we need. He's consistent as well whereas Bellinger, who's very talented as well, has been up and down with the bat over the last few years.

The body can only take so much and then the injury bug hits. This organization will never learn in this case the GM and manager need to go or they could do good cop bad cop and go with Boone but get a bench coach that’s the bad cop and allowed to question Boones on field decisions that many times is stupid.

Not his fault people get hurt, not his responsibility that the analytics people gave him bad advice, and all the bad trades which are too many to list here aren't his fault. Cashman sets the entire philosophy of this org From A ball to big club. Injury laden EVERY year No LH bats year after year where 81 games in YS Never hitting in post season against good rh pitching All minor leaguers taught launch angle and exit velo…..avg 220, 280 OBP is acceptable… Constantly signing pitchers that are seriously hurt Constantly playing players out of position None of this is acceptable …all of this is established and set, arrogantly by Cashman Cole will def opt out on what will become NY Jets of baseball. ‘Until Hal sells , they will never win …anything ever again.

I am a big Volpe fan and feel he has just scratched the surface. I think he would have done better with a better hitting team. However, (he could use a few less chicken parm dinners-seriously). The Yanks need to play tighter fundamental baseball. Why does Stanton hit cleanup all the time. Why is Stanton’s legs gone at 32. Why are their so few left handed bats. If I spent 293 million dollars, I would want real answers.

I also think the young guys deserve a shot .At one time didn't we have Jeter , Williams,Posada and Petite, they came from our farm system .

Neal, I agree. So did Mariano Rivera coming from the yankee farm system.

So go with these sub .200 'kids' and blow 3 seasons waiting for them to "develop" and waste Cole's good seasons and Judge's prime. The kids arent close to being ready or good (exception is Domingues) they couldnt even excel vs meat pitching on bad teams in September....please stop with the kids Rick is an idiot but reflective of this moronic 'kids' mentality of todays Yankee fan.

So with all your Yankee experience and knowledge Michael, you don't say a word about Cashman being the problem? You choose the obvious and say Stanton is a problem? Wow.

Stanton is a problem...on the field.
@WarrenFranceSportsNetwork Жыл бұрын
@@rk9wolverine810who chose Stanton when the team couldn’t get a base hit in 2017 playoffs. Stanton was never the choice. I love him but it was stupid move.

Trade the house for Juan Soto. He’s 24 with a career WAR close to 30 already and he gets on base better than anyone the last three years.
@rudivanrooijen7611 Жыл бұрын
Soto is a great offensive player, but he ruins team chemistry and is a mediocre outfielder.
@jetercollector2134 Жыл бұрын
@@rudivanrooijen7611 Well, they currently have no chemistry to begin with and we’re bottom 5 in the league in OBP… Soto will get you .400 every year.
