Dad and I use to go to the Adelaide tests in the late 90s/early 00s and if ya got there early enough, ya would see commentators walking around the ground and most times they were happy to stop and have a chat with the fans. I can't remember the exact year but Greigy stopped to have a chat with us and man, what a great guy to chat with, it was pretty much the same guy on camera we were talking with and he was even happy to show us his car key he used when doing the pitch report 😂

He had everything, the perfect voice, great knowledge of the English language, great speaking ability, absolutely fantastic knowledge of the game of Cricket, the excitement he brought to the game and the witty and corny comments were a treat. tony was great RIP. I remember bunking off school to go watch england vs the windies at headingley in 1976 of the 'grovel tour' after seeing his comments on calendar (i think), and if i heard one person say 'who's grovelling now greig' as the windies put on 400 first day (if my now aging brain remembers right), i heard it a 100 times, but we did venture into the stand where the fans were drinking coplious cans of red stripe and having lots of fun - happy days
