I'm an Aussie, but I have never liked Chappell. Good player and captain, but he has always bugged the shit out of me as a commentator (pretty funny that he had a dig at Beefy's commentary skills) and he comes across here as a sad, bitter old man.

Met Beefy and he is larger than life , colourful and a genuine force of nature to be in his company , and many Aussies I have heard speak of him in the game , love and respect the guy as much as we do The other bloke always had negativity associated with him and the lines of Lillee , Thompson & Border aren’t that keen on Chappell because he is just a bitter egotistical arsehole

@@vickyvirk4424 Very weak argument. Botham has been married to his wife Kath for 50 years, and it is not for you to say what she should think. Plus, that has nothing to do with his altercation with Ian Chappell.

Chappell's locked into a position and nothing is ever going to sway him. That reflects poorly on his character. Conversely, it appears Botham would concede some ground if Chappell was willing to do the same. The comment about Botham's commentary was childish and irrelevant to the issue at hand. This isn't bias speaking, I'm Australian. .
@paulscottrobson Жыл бұрын
They're probably about the same. I always liked Chappelli as a commentator - not as good as Benaud, but then no-one is, but worth listening to. Botham was a bit more Fred Trueman style at time but still pretty decent compared to a lot of the rubbish you get now "That's a big hit for six over the boundary" - get away.
