British??? It was New Zealand and Canadian units that fought to the Gateways of Florence!!! And NZ's Maori Battalion were the first troops into the city - my father spent 5 months in Florence as CQMS at the NZ Forces Club in the Hotel Baglioni after the city was liberated.

This is what I don't get. If Stolen Art is the 3rd largest Black Market in the world, then why aren't we actively tracking whose involved in that market? Someone, somewhere knows where all the stolen art is coming from. Someone somewhere knows far more than they are letting out. So why aren't we tracking and detaining these people? You don't need to get into "The Free Port", which, in my opinion, should be closed down, since it is obviously engaged in criminal activity. You only need to know who relies on the facility. What I want to know is, why haven't the authorities approached The Free Port with any search warrants, given the criminalistic activity that this facility is engaged in?
