lol used to mean "I am laughing in real life." That's to say, I'm not laughing in my head, this made me laugh aloud. This was the difference from typing "haha" to say you find it funny, and typing "lol" to say you physically reacted to it. The expansion to lol is lmao and rofl, some people used to type "my sides" to say that they are laughing so hard it hurts. ASAP and ETA are not really Internet slang, but real-life acronyms. Even thx, tk, brb, wtf, omg, rn, sry, gtg, cya, l8r, etc. are not Internet slang but phone messaging shortenings. Internet acronyms are afk, gg, irl, tldr, glhf, ylyl. But more internet slang like /s to signify the end sarcasm, or "dropping your spaghetti" for doing something embarrasing, or the use of owned, epic, hilarious, kek, dafuq, inb4... even yeet, sus.

"ASAP" is one of those initialisms that is so regularly used that some native English speakers probably don't know what it stands for or that it's initialism at all. Several English words that were originally initialisms turned into common words that some don't know the origins of, such as LASER, SONAR, and SCUBA. "NGL" = "Not Gonna Lie" "TBH" = "To Be Honest" Both of these mean essentially the same thing, basically "to tell you the truth...", saying that whatever follows is a genuine opinion and not a joke "FR" = "For Real", meaning that they agree that something is true or real, like "ain't that the truth", isn't that right?, etc. "SMH" = "Shaking my head", someone hanging their head in disbelief about something

"Sick" (always check with other people for more info) In normal everyday talk "sick" is bad it means an ill person or someone with disease or something. But as a slang it means you've done something amazing, good, etc (complimenting you). (Ex. I think) Polden is so sick = Polden so amazing. That thumbnail is sick = Nice thumbnail Btw if you are doing something right now. And the audience are impressed they can say "That's so sick"
