I mean, they mixed Vax's death walkers ward and his boots of haste (and possibly Fenthris and Vex's blazing bowstring). They might mix the titanstone knuckles with the glove of missile snaring. Maybe they are just combining magical items to make things more streamlined.

Vex also had a Critical 3rd level hail of thorns. We see this as three arrows in kevdak with three arrows and the thorns ripping through him

@@merindab that's basically what I did I heard about tlovm and decided to start the campaigns and when I got past the briarwood arc I watched season one and then as season two was going up I was about ten episodes behind on campaign three now im all caught up watched my first live one last week

The runtime didn't scare me away, but I'm definitely someone that LOVES a 30+ minute video. I love seeing your really break down how things were different in the campaign and the clips, as someone who will probably never watch the original stream, so I enjoyed every second of the video!!!! @@Pixelists It can't be cut, without it they don't go to a certain terrible burning place and a certain someone doesn't sign a certain contract. Unless they're going to scrap that ENTIRE storyline, and why the Hell! (heh) would they?!?!?!?! It's badass!

This is why I love D&D so much. The Herd had some incredible rolls but Vox Machina rolled even better which barely allowed to survive as long as they did. Vox Machina knew they had to kill Kevdak but there was no way to determine who, if anybody, would be able to get the killing blow on the then retreating Kevdak. The party didn't know this but Matt revealed later on that if it had been anybody but Grog killing Kevdak in plain sight of the rest of the Herd then the Herd would have kept fighting until they or the party were dead. The Kill Box session also highlights what will become even more obvious in campaign two, that Laura Bailey is one of those rare players who have a knack for destroying a DM's plans and that she's on another level than everybody else.

Grog regularly got the best natural 20s in the campaign and in the epilog one shots. Some of my favorite moments ever were Grog natural 20 moments. Also, I have NEVER seen them rejoice so much for a hdywtdt as they did with Kevdak.

It helped that he so often had advantage on attacks, and he got so many attacks, but yeah some of those nat20s were unforgettable. My favourites are the pair from Search for Grog. He’s so calm on the first one, and over the moon on the second.

I wonder if the change to make it into a fist fight was partially to combine this scene with the crucible fights in Vasselheim in the campaign, which also ties in Groon being there in the flashback. The Killbox wasn't really one of my favorite episodes in the campaign, but this episode of the animated series is probably one of my favorites so far. There were so many little details that were just beat for beat taken from the campaign and so faithfully recreated, and it came together amazingly well.

I'm really going to miss getting to watch these videos every week! I always feel like I get to enjoy the episodes even more after seeing the Easter eggs you point out (and feeling proud of myself for the few I caught 😂). When Kevdak threatened to crush Pike, it felt a little different to me, because the german voiceactor of Kevdak also does the voice of "The mountain" in the german Dub of the "Game of Throne"-Series. Also, a loved one of the protagonist facing a horrible fate, while the protagonist is forced to just watch... I couldn't help but being reminded of a ... not-so-love-scene from "Berserk". All these elements made Kevdaks death all the more satisfying to me!

Kevdak actually reminded me a lot of Quaritch from Avatar... that guy also would've just ripped off his own f*cking arm in battle 😵‍💫 And Zanror reminds me of Ashton, even down to getting yeeted off a balcony 😅

I like the juxtaposition of Kevdak, a Totem Warrior Barbarian, and Grog, a Berserker Barbarian - Grog is displayed as being much more agile than Kevdak, getting in more hits, but Kevdak shrugging off the damage like it's nothing

I'm assuming the "certain scene" you mentioned is Hotis, and I think it's pretty safe to say that he's been completely cut out of the show. It would just be too large of a sidetrack from the main plot, and even in the original campaign it didn't matter that much in the grand scheme of things. I'm sure they'll mention "going to hell" as part of Tary's list, but I really can't see them actually going there for a sidequest

Hotis had that cameo early in S1, and I think that's all we're going to see of him. Although the moment with Scanlan diving down to stab Umbrasyl in the eye with his sword does remind me of a certain scene that happened during the Hotis fight in Whitestone ;) I'm glad they kept that, it was bad*ss!

To be fair, it's not nessicarily 3 weeks Scanlan Grog and Pike have been together, its just 3 weeks since the Keyleth episode when they last were seen. We're not entirely sure how long it was between that and the spell splitting the party up.

Will, there is an odd moment in this episode, when Grog is about to realise where his strength comes from, Earthbreaker Goon appears before him in a vision... for the first few shots, Grog is drawn with human-coloured skin. Why is that??? It reminded me of Purvan, whose skin turned human-coloured after Vax basically surrendered to him...

4:20 Spoilers for C1: If you're talking about, ya know, _Jazzhands_ They literally have to do it, not just because it's one of the most iconic scenes in all of critical role and they will be dealing with pitchforks and torches if they don't, but also because it literally sets up a huge chunk of story lol. No Rakshasa!Gilmore =No Hell, And that is such an important story. Also can you even Imagine the animation we're going to get of HELL? It's going to be so horrifying, I can't wait! They already had a mini flashback around the campfire with Vax talking about his weirdest kill where the Rakshasa specifically said that he'd be back to set up for it. Sure they've done other references too but to pick THAT specifically, No, they're doing it.

Poor ignored Galdric. 😔 We love you, even if the animators don't! lol.
