Thanks for sharing sir! Reminded me of how my dad used to carry his 090’s around the bush cutting big red gums in the 80’s and 90’s. These men were real men and it was never a guarantee that they would return home from such a dangerous job. God bless them- the pioneers and founders of our once great nations!

Great video. Thanks for the backstory on the saws and Kenny. Growing up in the PNW, the logging industry could be seen everywhere. I miss it. Thanks for the look back.

Makes one’s back ache , just the thought of it! Those were MEN among men. I got to know and work on their equipment as a young tech. They taught me how a chainsaw tech should repair their saws. Believe me, if their saw didn’t run as it should , there was HELL to Pay. I was a quick learner! Lol. WestCoastMuscleSaws TheChainSawGuy Rich

We cut the smaller trees to fall the big trees on them .did you ever hear of a guy named Joe Stanger .he was my cousin and was a feller aswell for year in BC .I worked in BC in the logging industry and Saskatchewan were I owned my own company for a while till every thing crashed and lumber was worth nothing. I still cut lumber on my own mill and fire wood. I am building a 3500 square foot log house this summer. Just to keep busy.

My dad had some timber jacks from his logging days on the Oregon coast , I ended up donating the jacks and the pump to the Coos County Logging museum in Myrtle Point Oregon.

Hi Matt, Good to hear from you, Yes these Timber fallers from the Muscle Saw era were tough as they get. Hot in summer, cold and wet winters. But they wouldn’t trade it for any other wok. Take Care My Friend, WestCoastMuscleSaws TheChainSawGuy Rich

I suggestion on cleaning the decompression valve on a super pro 81E. I get spark on the plug when it is out and wired to the frame. Can’t get it to pop with starting fluid cuz it is quite hard to pull.

Good stuff. However rather than a tape measure I carry what we call a measuring stick. Typically 104 inches with varying notches for random length logs. It is typically a hard Maple or ironwood. Also used as a walking stick😊.
