I think this looks great. The last time I played a total war game was Rome 2 years ago. I'm admittedly not a huge gamer but the graphics look amazing and seems to just be improvement on all features I remember from Rom 2. Especially considering this update is free we're very lucky to get it so reckon I'll have some fun with it

​@thisistotalwar In newer historical total war games. I felt unit tier matters too much. A highest tier melee unit infantry can pin 3-4 lowest tier melee unit infantry for too long before routing when surrounded, it's around 3-4 mins generally. Shogun 2 FOTS one unit of Yari Kachi will break in a min from few cheap spear levy. Battle UI. Probably good improvement is you can remove those huge banners and replace with bronze, silver, gold icons to show tier of enemy units without having to hover over for quick matchup. Campaign. A problem in many total war games. The mini games of politics etc felt like it was only player playing it and AI can ignore it. So you're in your own world of campaign mechanics. I remember playing Attila on Legendary first time and AI had 3 settlements but 6-7 full stacks before realising about AI bonuses to production. I wish AI can manage economy or CA can design an economy an AI can manage. This would open up a new way to play by systematically targeting parts of their economy to hinder their warfare ability. Makes it more interesting than stack vs stack or cat and mouse. Graphics of units. I guess have to be accurate all soldiers wear loin cloth. But man If you use Anno Domini 919 mod with Attila. The individual soldiers within same unit have different clothing, shield etc colour so they don't look like clones. It looked awesome. A Medieval totalwar made now would of opened up some nice things like that. Anno Domini 1051 going to be released soon and it will have custom made settlements in battles, not just units. Made by a legend from TW Center.

I agree with you, I don't mind units being made "tanky" and able to hold back several units a long time - when being attacked from the front holding a chokepoint that is. Being surrounded it makes more sense that they brake fast from multible standpoints. And I heard about Anno Domini mod, but haven't checked it out myself yet. Will check it out, but It has to be more finished that MK 1212 AD to be worth playing I think.

The should also add steppe factions to simulate the Bronze Age civilisations being ransacked by steppe forces

More or less yes - whats going to separate them is acquired traits depending on how u use them and what gear they wear. They also have different % of having children.

Imo the ui is atrocious! Looks cheap,bulky and gamey same for unit banners and cards,other than that looks interesting as a game now.

tried to like the game but its even worse than the warhammer ones... no tactics and made to be a mobile game for people with 2 min attention spans

Not everyones cup of TW, but no tactics? I found myself several times needing to utilize tactics in order to pull of wins. It's not entirely a click to win game in my experience.

@@timothypricesr5953 Well Total War has always been kinda rock, paper, scissor. Doesn't mean that there are no tactics involved.
