Boss actually wasn’t the 1st to do this, well as a practice amp yes but KLANG was actually the company who did this 3D placement technology in its IEM hardware and software. It’s been around for a few years now, allowing you to set up an IEM mix that feels like you aren’t really wearing IEM’s but just on stage without monitors, yet the volume of everything including vocals is adjustable and you hear everything clear and like it’s coming at you from the same points it’s positioned on stage, and if you turn.....it adjusts with you.

Wouldn't it be nicer to build headphones with speakers that have a frequency response close to a guitar speaker? Impulse Responses are cool but they give you the sound of a mic'd cabinet. Wanmohan If you take Pokemon as an example, TM in the English language version of the games vs WM in the Japanese versions: TM = Technical Machine WM = Waza Machine Seeing as these devices teach new techniques to Pokemon it is a no brainer that the meaning in Pokemon is ‘technique’ at least. Chinese characters in Japanese often have the same meaning but not all the time so you need to be careful. A lot of time has passed and a lot of politics since the early days of usage in Japan!!

When I practice I need my real amp and my pedals at a decent volume. I find that I play differently true a real amp. The guitar starts to create kind of a life of his own at certain volumes. I even have the feeling that it starts playing me in stead of me playing her. I have the helix and helix native I thought it would be great for practicing. But I fret differently and also pick differently. Also a very important factor for my practicing routine is switching between sounds. IMHO you should practice on what you gig with full gear.

I bought these and am actually quite disappointed with the "3D" effect. Within approx 2 min of playing, the gyro drifts severely and the amp moves by itself in an unpredictable and very distracting manner. This drift issue is being discussed at length by owners on gear forums such as TGP. As many have, I will probably be returning my headphones and I suggest others wait until Boss has fixed the issue before investing in a pair, as there is no apparent way to update the firmware.
