I came across your videos and been watching since 3am... then came across this one. Grant Brittain was my idol when I was a kid. So great to see this! Thank you!

Oh man what a legend, someone that has given so much to photography and skateboarding it’s just incredible to see. I would spend hours looking at those skate magazines just for the photos.

Fantastic interview, fantastic showcase of pics, digging the B&W style a lot. It works wonders for a "casual chat in the parking lot" type of thing

thanks. Yes I thought it was appropriate considering so many kids skateboard in parking lots :-)

Thanks Take for this TOP interview. Amazing to see how a great photographer as Grant is still so modest. What a cool person! I like the fact that he still shoots film for his personal work. Very inspiring.

Yes we invited him as a guest but he was actually eager to share his photography and passion for film. We were honoured he did, and also agreed to do this interview in a parking lot!!

bigheadtaco I’m curious about his which film bodies he chose. And about his wide angle lenses... he used what looks like an 18mm or 20mm at times.

Great interview! Very level-headed and grounded photographer. His work reminds me of another great skateboard photographer Fred Mortagne in France, who has a new book, “Attraper au Vol” and also works in B&W.

Great video! I miss your early vids though, that had the fun animations. Btw, Tri-X was actually available in the 1940's as sheet film... later released in 35mm & 120 roll film in 1954 (as you mentioned).

thank you Take for sharing all these (for me/us) legend sof the past and present. btw are there some female photographers you can present too? just to balance things... ;-)
@bigheadtaco7 жыл бұрын
thanks for commenting and yes, it's harder to find female photographers, but I know they're out there. I did feature food photographer Leila Kwok last year, and I have more female photographers lined up. If anyone has suggestions, please comment below. Thanks.

Not being mean but as an outside critique id wait for a second or two before responding to an interviewer. Sometimes you say yay yay yay over them and it comes off rude. I know you arenr trying to do it but just wanted to provide that insight

Ok, I had to stop and say Oh my god this is film not digital images way too damn kool does it matter what camera your using ,lighting or just knowing what should happen and just wait for that moment... If you're going to shoot know your subject or subject matter and if you don't know learn... Oh and know your gear.. Wonderful images I'm a medium shooter out of 10 shots I get 2 sometimes 3 that are spot on... lol
