The question about sitting at a computer for 10 hours a day also applies to work from home jobs that are PC based. I got inflamed nerves in my hips/legs three times within a few years that were so painful I needed prescription strength anti--inflammatory meds to help cure it, along with special cushions for my chair. I also need to make excuses to get up and do something on my feet once every few hours of work and to keep repositioning every 10 to 15 minutes or I risk doing it again. I think the issue isn't sitting for 10 hours a day and more a lack of movement outside of those 10 hours. If you exercise for an hour a day and sit for 10, I don't think that's necessarily unhealthy. It's a balance.

Scared the shit outta me & now I am much more well rounded with my lifestyle. Still though WFH is goated & I would choose it over a 15% pay bump almost always.

@Kriss_9417 ай бұрын
Have you considered a sit/stand desk? If you ask your workplace they might even help you pay for it... And by ask I mean propose that they help you fund it and put forth the arguments for why you need it and how it actually benefits them. For example you wouldn't need to take as many breaks during the day making you more efficient, it would help improve your overall health and prevent unnecessary absence due to illness etc.
@DarkusZarvix7 ай бұрын
@@Kriss_941 Yeah, I've tried the standing desk and even the treadmill under the standing desk. Due to an unrelated injury when I was a kid, my legs are slightly different lengths; not enough for special shoes/insoles but enough to impact standing for long periods. For me, standing on legs that are slightly different lengths causes my knees, hips and spine to sit crooked when standing in one place without moving much for more than and hour or two. That led to more pain overall with a standing desk and swapping back and forth would happen once every hour and I felt I was spending so much time going between sitting/standing that 5 minute breaks every 2 hours was about the same amount of time. Walking is easier so the treadmill idea I thought would help but my job is super detail oriented and the movement while walking made the mouse control incredibly difficult. I do have a side business and I do some quick chores around the house during those breaks. Starting a load of laundry, filling the sink to do dishes, pouring a candle layer, prepping grocery lists, cleaning a countertop real quick, etc are all things I do real quick during my breaks. I'm just lucky that my job doesn't have tons of meetings so I can easily multi-task and make use of my time I can't be at my PC doing work. But for most, yeah, I'd recommend a standing desk or treadmill under a standing desk to stay active during typically sitting-only jobs. It just doesn't work for me for other reasons.

Ludwig being from NH (I am still in NH and grew up here), you do basically need outdoorsy skills because our biggest "city" is essentially a small town in just about any other state. Most of us are on wells and not city water. Half our state is mountains and wildlife... We're kind of known for that... You'd feel out of place here simply because being outdoors is a lot of what we're about. XD
@calebkendrick15907 ай бұрын
same for here in Mississippi. There isnt shit to do so as a kid you just gotta go outside and make shit up. We would soend hours just wandering thre woods making trails, building forts, etc. It was really the only entertainment you had on the regular

I think my perspective changed towards hasan, i enjoy watching rae and ludwig but i guess ive never really thought deep about hasan because my first thought of hasan was that hes huge political streamer that yells at 13 year olds online.. which that thought actually hasnt changed.. But sometimes I forget that streamers/content creators are human.

Basically anyone who has met him IRL has said they love him. Recently he went to Australia and Anything4Views said he hated him before meeting him and really wanted to hate him IRL as well but they hit it off really well. Im biased as fuck because im a fan of his and share his political views, but most of the shit that makes him look bad as a human is incredibly out of context and you can see that from just watching him interact with real humans irl

It's hard for me to care about him at all when he directly came out and said streaming is way harder than having a normal 9-5 and people who work "normal jobs' don't actually have it that bad. Absolutely brain dead take imo
@Phos7x7 ай бұрын
@@milquetoasty__ Its funny you bring that up because thats literally an example of an out of context clip. He has a video on his channel that shows how that entire thing came up. He said streaming takes more out of his social battery, not that its a harder job, and someone clipped it out of context and uploaded it on LSF literally 10 minutes after he finished the argument. He has worked a "real job" before and he said its obviously more physically taxing, but streaming for 10 hours a day kills his social battery and he cant hang out with friends later, while he could do that when he was working in sales. He never said streaming was a harder job, he just said that its more socially exhausting.
@nicelittlestyleslad7 ай бұрын
@@milquetoasty__ they talked about that on the most recent fear& pod with anythingforviews. in that ep hasan himself says it's evident by the fact that he isn't still working his old 9-5 job that streaming is easier than real work. the original point was that you can shut off your brain after leaving work whereas streamers are constantly "on" and socially draining. but that the obvious financial benefits of streaming are completely worth it, esp since he personally enjoys it so much

@magnusgray41367 ай бұрын
A very common dream is actually driving to ur job, but bc hasan is a streamer, he ofc most likely doesn't experience those dreams, so instead, he dreams of streaming. My advice is that he most likely needs to take a couple of days off work to let his mind unwind. ♡

@@Staz yeah problem with political streamers is that they have to appease the audience to make their income. You cant really trust the opinions of someone whos being paid to have those opinions, even if he started off as genuine. If he believes something that goes against the common belief of his audience, he risks losing a good portion of them so he is a slave in a way to whatever opinion is popular and socially acceptable at the time
