I love that these exist, I just wish there was a unit like this to use with other amps. I have an old peavey amp that would greatly benefit from a mod like this. Great content man, keep it up

There are some of the old Peavey’s it would work in. The VTM and original Butcher. Email me at david@legendarytones.com about your amp and I can research the circuit. Thanks!

I'm sure that DEEP switch is killer in the room, but tracking wise it sounds amazing without it.

Exactly right, and actually Lynch himself shared with me that for recording he likes it off, and in the room in a band setting he likes the Deep switch on.

Will this work with a DSL20HR?
@LegendaryTones3 жыл бұрын
@@nomadronin7361 It will not unfortunately because the DSL doesn’t use a traditional cathode follower circuit like the JMP/JCM 800 and other Marshall’s do. For reference in case you’re interested in the future, here’s a link for compatibility: legendarytones.com/will-my-hot-mod-v2-work-in-x-amp/

Dude!! That unboosted stock tone was exactly why I was so disappointed with the JCM800 the first time I played one and opted for a Jubilee. Those bottom-string power chords are so throaty and the palm mutes are so punchy… My Jube is going nowhere, but if I buy an 800 now, it’s all your fault. This hard rock guy that listens to thrash for the killer technique just subscribed! One question though: I remember the 800 I played was super stiff. Does the Hot Mod or Lynch Mod make it feel different?
@belligerentamateur3 жыл бұрын
The increased gain from the Hot Mod will make it feel more responsive and easier to play, especially with the switch in the "more gain" position
@andrewspillane61803 жыл бұрын
@@belligerentamateur Thanks, man! Still probably won’t be anywhere near as spongy as my Bogner Ecstasy (my desert island amp, but it’s even more of what you didn’t like of the Shiva lol) but Marshalls are for the more immediate, in your face attack.

Yes the originals were hand wired and very labor intensive point-to-point circuits that drove the price. Happy to have the new version coming which will bring it down (and ships with tubes as the original did as well).
