@@christinevanzyl3106 I'm pretty sure race was not a factor with MJ. He did some extreme weird and questionable things in the later half of his life which tainted him deeply. If anyone was behaving like that other than MJ they would have been crucified, white or black. MJ was just such an iconic figure by that time he held his legacy even with that. It's even fair to say that he actually borderline transcends race to a degree. He was,in all likelihood, the most iconic artist of his time and that reputation still holds it's weight today. How many people could you say the same about? Maybe a handful? Not everything is racially motivated. MJ had his demons. While having the image and ability, enchating the crowd is the trick. When I watch Queen concerts I always nearly cry because I'd give anything to feel how Freddie interacted with his audience, all his little jokes, small talks, how his love and passion was always delivered, his spontanous energy to add to his perfectionism, his modesty and cockiness in one, making him such a performer, not only musican or singer. Those standing out qualities make a legend. I've got some doubts about Ariana making it to the legendary list because she lacks the incomparable image right now, maybe she'll get it but all the 'legends' had their traits from the beggining. The way she looks or acts on the stage is nothing extraordinary, she is yet another half-naked, pretty, well-dancing female artist nowadays if you only look at her without hearing (I don't deny her incredible voice, though). I guess Lady Gaga or Adele have a big chance to be legendary, by the way.

Yeah freddie and sometimes brian talking to the crowd was just so sweet it was like the crowd was a friend of his and freddie was just teasing them or flirting with them like a lover almost. He has not been around long enough yet to be a legend. Give him another decade and he may earn that.

a message to joel: hound dog wasn't originally by elvis, it was by big mama thorton who (in my opinion) is a MUCH better singer, and overall musician than elvis.

yes, blue suede shoes wasn´t Elvis song either, it was Carl Perkins. But Elvis was Elvis and did those song so much bigger then they already were. I like that you know that. its few people that know such thing when it comes to older music. :)

@@linusbromer8258 yeah, and the worst thing was that the songs he stole were mostly from black musicians who he rarely gave credit to.

@@ivy6286 The thing Elvis did was to bring black and white people together. At that time you had a vary split audience when it came to white and black music. That´s when Elvis did a favor for the black comunity. When Elvis sang a song written by a black person, white persons started to listen to that as well. That made people go together, that thing that thay shared the same taste of music. Humans have an easier time to get along if thay have something that thay agree with. Elvis was a white man in black comunity. You can compare that to Eminem, he was rapper which was a more of black peoples music at that time. Elvis sang like a balck person and got inspiration from blues. Elvis grow up around black people. He sneaked in to black peoples churches to hear their gospel. Little Richard was a singer that Elvis liked and wanted to sing his songs, so he did. Riched siad in a interview "I love Elvis, that´s my buddy, my baby" on youtube. The name of the video is "Little Richard praises Elvis / Joy, Joy, Joy | ElvisistheMan". Little Richard and Elvis was good friends, stole is not the right word. When it comes to "Hound dog" it´s not exactly Big Mama Thorton song. Lerry Leiber and Mike Stoller wrote both variations of "hound dog" Big Mama and Elvis. They even worked on Jailhouse rock as well. "hound dog" was a hit for both artists in diffrent times. Big Mama in 1953 and for Elvis in 1956. In the 1950s it was common with covers of same songs. Some times the same song hit the billbord at the same time. According to Wikipidia "hound dog (song)" is the song recoded over 250 times. I think you should not say that it is stolen, you have to say that to alot of artists in the 1950s stole as well if you going with that statement. On every song on a LP disc it is written who wrote the song, its the law to have that. All cridit gose to the song writer. that means that Elvis and his record company (RCA Victor) gave cridit to the song writer. It is alot of people that think he stole songs, but he didn´t do so. I don´t blame you for that either.
