I think that the Stuts Blackhawk is a Gorgeous and Beautifully Designed Car. I LOVE it's lines and everything about this amazing one of a kind car, designed by Mr. Exner. He had great taste!

I have a 75 Blackhawk and love it. It's a classic beautiful handmade car that gets parked in front of any Bentley or Rolls when I go out.

I saw one of these Blackhawks (iridescent green paint) parked at the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto in the 1990's. It was next to my car and I was peeking in the window when the woman who owned it came back and offered me a look inside. Gold-plated handles and knobs and mink carpeting. The leather seats were also trimmed with fur. She said the cars could be ordered with mink, ermine or chinchilla carpeting. . . She opened the trunk and there was a spare tire lying there on the red fox fur-lined trunk! Talk about ostentatious, she claimed it was once owned by Elvis Presley too. . .

The Elvis Stutz was recently re awakened, started and driven by a Pontiac historian, and placed back at Graceland, there's video of it .

I really like those fake sidepipes... considering how much it cost, you'd think they would have installed functional sidepipes. They didn't even bother hiding the functional true duals that run all the way back to the rear bumper.

My uncle James O'Donnell was the original owner of this car he was the CEO of Stutz Motors Company

It cost $27k in 1971, NOT $300k. That would be its approx price TODAY when adjusting for inflation
@chirelle.alanalooney8609 Жыл бұрын
Hi Stanley, You are absolutely 100% correct. The gentleman giving the Review of this Amazing Car, should have definitely known what the price would have been. Then he said that it would cost $ 2 Million today, NOT true! That man was out of this head, and way off of the Price Range for the car.
@chirelle.alanalooney8609 Жыл бұрын
Oh Stanley, Even at $27 Thousand in 1971, it is still a far cry from $300 Thousand in 1971. He hasn't got any of his figures right !! Where in the world did he get them from is what I'd like to know?!?!

The original, first run cars are the best of the neoclassical cars.... meaning the least tacky. I love this original design. It’s a shame these handmade beauties get lumped in with the later cheap-looking Excaliburs and Gazelles.

A lot of commenters hating on this car.. If they were Elvis and had the three hundred thousand to buy each of their buddies one. It would be a different story.

It’s unique but this does remind me of a particular car. In the movie Clint Eastwood’s “Magnum Force”, the pink car driven by the pimp. The same styling cues. Shag fur interior, exhaust pipes exiting from the side etc. Who could forget that. LOL

Elvis wasn't the only one to drive a Stutz, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Lucille Ball, Kenny Rogers, Liberace, Mohammad Ali, Billy Joel, Elton John, and Willie Nelson. To those that call it tacky and garish, it was the 70's,everything was gaudy. Excess was the norm back then. It cost a lot of money to look trashy. The difference is that this is masterfully created trash. The quality and craftsmanship built into these cars was far beyond what other companies were building back then, and way beyond today's cars...
