Honestly, the game just doesn't favor flanking NEARLY enough for it to be worth it. And i mean that in a general sense. Even with rear-attack specialist slaaneshis, it doesn't seem to really make a difference. Now if you don't mind, i have a Shogun 2 campaign to start.

I had Vlad, Isabella and one vampire kill Wulfrik and about 15 mammoths, which pit of shades and wind of death are basically useless at. I did have to cheese with Vlad stood right in the corner and luring one mammoth away at a time for the other two to assassinate, but I got there in the end

Do AI armies just stand and stare at flying units if they are heroes? Only on the higher difficulty? I play normal difficulty and they never seem to do this. They always charge my army as soon as I do damage to them.

@@Redbeardian Yup, VH battle difficulty is kind of borked because of the AI prioritising overall value. On lower difficulties they don't really bother, and will attack you regardless (albeit not without some strategy). There's plenty of cases of battles that can be cheesed on VH, but are likely unwinnable on Normal.

For people out there learning: Second battle, level 1 metal caster makes a big difference. 20 with all points in casting? Lost before they even started. Level 1? Just a hero who can cast two or three times. Always check the enemy lord levels before assessing your battle odds.

I mean, legend gave the answer in the video, vlad had the nemesis crown and 3 casters, that was all he got in the army, because he didnt need more but when he couldn´t find enemies to fight he lost the crown and had to recruit an emergency army.

One of the things that really aggravates me about this game is that if you were fighting vlad you would be saying the same thing about him that you are about archeon that he was too tough and he could wipe out your army etc. That’s what makes you have to cheese or spam certain unit types because you can’t fight the AI “honorably”. I’ve got like 5000 hours in all 3 of these games and I keep having a hard time even playing the game anymore because the AI just annoys me more than anything and you can’t play the game without cheesing because their idea of making the game harder is buffing stats. I wish the AI would just be smarter instead of the stat buffing but I don’t think it will ever happen.

At least they gave us the option to have battle ai be different than battle buffs. you can have ai on very hard battle with 0 buffs. But honestly yeah its my biggest problem with total war games. The ai is so bad that they need to get so many buffs, They should learn a thing or two from paradox, obviously their ai could be improved too, but at least its not complete poop without 1000 buffs.
