@@reithough This was the only army I had, and in fact, needed, as the goal was not to build an empire, but to create a specific scenario. As I didn't need any settlements, I just sacked everything on my path, which combined with this army being really cheap in upkeep, made me amass such a big amount of gold in treasury.

Im loving this one, even if it is set up. Its an interesting senario and the guy seemed to put quite a bit of work into making it a challenge. Love seeing legend pull it back, especially because he tends to drive the campaigns in his direction or preferred way to play so its interesting so see one where he has to go so far to stabilize it to his comfort zone.

Iirc legend pretty much asked for fake disasters at one point as they were low on savegames Fake disasters can be better than the actual ones

I would not say this is one is better. Namely because of how stupidly blatant the set up is in just putting the Player Faction in a bad situation. I’m not against people creating fake disaster campaigns. I am against such a blatantly poor set up that is only set up in the mind of piling on every single disadvantage the player can inflict on themselves. The set up is just.... insultingly stupid.

As you've said many times before, legend, mammoths don't perform well in auto-resolve so a lord, damsel and foot troops (non-peasants) should beat his mammoths in auto-resolve. The money is the saving grace in this campaign. You could afford another army to defeat and remove Ostland. With the low reputation and number of enemies making peace is going to be nigh impossible. Effectively, this is a 'this is total war' scenario. At least you should be able to get Isabella's trait, in this one.

I've thought about making a campaign just for SYDC, but i'm too lazy. It would be a nice competition to see how well Legend can handle deliberate disasters. Could be a new mini series.

Even it if it is, it took him a loooong as time to build this campaign up just for Legend. Heroes with lvl 40. if he's spent 10+ hours building it for Legend, it's definitely going to be interesting, which it was!

I find it kind of annoying how much difficulty the Total War series has as a whole with running down fleeing units. It's so hit and miss, and the flocking behavior drives me nuts.

What is the best way to level him up or any of the other legendary lords ? Edit : I know stuff like lightning strike and replenishment is important but are they the most important or what is ?

Lightning strike is really handy when dealing with an AI that will spam doomstacks at you. Which, at legendary difficulty is basically all the time. As for the "best" way to level legendary lords, that actually changes from lord, to lord, and faction to faction, and of course, the army composition you're going with for that lord. Generally speaking, beatstick lords are more likely to spend their points on buffing the frontline troops, since they will be there. So AOE leadership buffs are very handy on them. Utility lords that should never be in melee combat are better used with their points spent into their casting tree, and utility buffs for the entire army. Even there, you will run into some exceptions. Khalida for the Tomb Kings for instance, is best used in the early game, by parking her near archer units. Getting buffs for her archers will make that work even better. Right now, I'm in an Ikkit Claw campaign, and I went down the red tree until I got all the buffs for his gun crews, and warplock jezzails. I spent the minimum amount of points necessary to get that buff. The rest are going into the blue tree until I get renowned and feared (or whatever the skaven equivalent is), Any extra points will go into mount and then buffing his own combat stats. TL;DR: No set formula, depends on lord type, and army composition.

You can look at the records. He didn't really "lose" it. He intentionally burnt it all down to create this scenario for Legend, apparently. He made a comment if yous scroll up. User is Dawi From Another Hold

@@theovertaker40 Legend almost never checks the records. He doesn't really care about how they got to this stage. His no.1 priority is to fix it, normally. I think I saw him use the records maybe twice in this past year.

Records would not show much, because I didn't have many settlements. They would show my journey to Araby though, and destroying everything there, plus later on getting some temporary settlements in Empire on my way to Norsca.

Smh. Ai has no self preservation intelligence. It really should learn/know when it can't hit/harm a small single entity unit (thus bombardment is a waste) and that hitting it's own troops is dumb given a situation.

@@normanwei529 There was the one where a wood elf was in naggarond, one when a high elf army was in the border princes and had only 1 city left. No matter how stupid some1 is they wont be that stupid to go to half a map away with no clear obj and without take some cities along the way

If it makes you feel any better, the sender for this one admits he crafted the scenario for Legend. Since Legend is ok with crafted ones, as long as they are entertaining. The Skaven one with Ikkit Claw was not made up, apparently. The guy didn't realize the attrition from the siege would hit him that hard.

so he basically never took settlements and only sacked/razed settlements going arround the warhammer worlde. I think he made this challenge on purpose and when he was in the chaos waste he sent his save to you. with 290k ducats he could easily rebuild.
