lol It'd take a single episode to take it all back. They got like 0 armies. all I have to do is recruit new generals near rebel cities and quickly hire mercs and cheap crap to auto resolve the cities back under my control. 100% i'd win it without breaking a sweat.

I have played as Rome for far too long that I got three civil wars (The first two were so close together because I thought that civil war won't occur again so I took all the influence to role-play like fck all the other houses. The third appeared when I got the whole map to see if it can do more than twice and also because I don't want to end my Rome game yet.), I bet if I play long enough, I can trigger as much civil war as I can. Probably.

This is just another example of how much CA changed the game through "patches" pre-Emperor Edition it WAS impossible to get a second civil war, albeit that was also when magic stacks of doom spawned at your capitol.

Oh god that happened in my Spartan campaign when I was shit at the game. Something around 14 stacks of Spartan pikemen just came from nowhere around Sparta and actually just sat there. At the time I actually just deleted the campaign thinking there was no way I could actually beat that shit. Really wishing I kept it now, would have been hilarious.

Interesting. My only Rome 2 campaign, I got the Civil War in Spain... just as six of my legions had finished off that corner of the map and were moving north through Spain. They took one settlement and died.

I remember playing as Bactria and getting a second Civil War probably around 15 turns after I finished the first one. It was so exhausting, that I just decided to finish my campaign there. I remember back in the day when people would recommend to leave one enemy ship alive, hence never to finish even the first war, to keep the second one from not happening. I was not very wise to ignore that advice...

It was much easier to get to second civil war just after Rome 2 was released, before those endless patches that balanced the game. I remember how pissed I was when second cw erupted, it was so unexpected! Nowdays you have to put a lot of effort to start one! Good video Legend!

If you focus on your family such as give your family member promotions you’ll have a civil war at the end of the protection. I had like 30 in one campaign it was ridiculously funny cause the influence they had was so low I would crush them soon after. I did it ever turn so I could marry my family member as soon as possible and ended up with like 60 family members

ive had 2 civil wars with the iceni. it was also my first campaign playthrough ever, the first one made my entire east 40% of my empire convert to iceni council or something, and the 2nd one was much smaller and in the center of the campaign map

I had screwed up in my campaign, did not pay attention and other houses managed to get a huge amount of influence triggering constant civil wars. Every time a civil war ended it took only 5 to 10 turns for a new one to start. Eventually, barbarian factions started attacking me and the senate-loyals. This makes it even harder to get rid of the huge influence other houses have build up. By now I isolated the senate-loyals on Karalis and decided not to destroy them until I get my political situation in order. I think I've had about 5 or 6 civil wars by now.

Same here during a campaign playing as Sparta. Spent quite some time keeping and posting troops dedicated only to the purpose of crushing the secessionists on the borders where their respective parties held territories so I could immediately go on counterattack.

well i just ended my first civil war and on the first turn after i became the roman emprire i was at a low chance for another civil war. this was because during my first civil war i was still hiring my own house for generals and still promoting them every chance i could. so every turn now it says i have a low

i had a second civil war alot earlier in the game. i'm controling of 55 regions, and my IMPERIUM level is 7. I had a high chance of civil war, although my level of influence was only 35%. I took it down from 60% in an attempt to prevent the coup

I knew it was possible, because I fucked up my campaign and I had to win a tedious civil war. After turns of sweat and blood I managed to defeat it, only to be greeted by another civil war the next turn. Did I just get ridiculously unlucky?

The myth is caused by the fact that pre Emperor Edition you only had the one chance of one civil war. Thankfully this was patched out with the Emperor Edition.

Yeah I know firsthand that you can get a second civil war. I had two civil wars within the span of about 30-40 turns. So many of my family's generals had been killed in the first war and I was forced to use experienced generals of the other families. They led the second civil war against me. Ungrateful curs.

I don't know if it's a faction thing but with the Seleucids I managed to even avoid the first one by having all the active generals and admirals in my rulling family. By doing that they ai couldn't use an army or navy to turn into rebel. Again I don't know if that's a thing that happened to me or it's just a way to avoid the civil war in general.

How can I START a civil war (for an achivement)? Can anyone help pls? Descripton of my situation below. Playing as Rome on Legendary. And so far I had 5 secessions, but no civil war. 1st I had soon after protection expired, one party just had all red traits. 2nd I provoked as soon as I got imperium 5, so I could get overcome secession loyalty buff to smoothly transit to Empire. Now i have 50+ regions 15 provinces, strong armies, good income, 99% party influence. Pretty much game won. Just wrap up one of three victory conditions. So I wanted to go for some achivements. And I wanted the ciwil war one (in previous campaigns I had only secessions too, but only 1 per campaing). Somewhere I read, that secession can turn into a civil war if more than one party secedes. So I neglected the loyalty, even worked to bring it down. And voila secession number 3. Then I bottlenecked the secessionists in their region, waited 10 turns for the protection to expire. And another party seceded. So the secesionists got 1 more province, but it was still a secession, but no civil war. Ok, let's do it properly this time, I said to myself. Meanwhile I got 2 new parties, so still three rival parties. I worked my♥♥♥♥♥of to bring down all their loyalties down below -100. The broken heart icon informed me that i have 100% chance of secession/civil war. And next turn, still only 1 party seceded and joined the current secessionists, the other 2 remained and I am involved only in secession and NOT A CIVIL WAR. And I am proteced again for 10 turns. Can anyone help pls?

+hyper_nl after 14 or so patches rome 2 got pretty good. At least better than attila and empire I can say that much. I'm one of the nutshells who preordered rome 2. Was a stupid mistake but still CA fixed most of the flaws after a lot of patches haha. And the Augustus patch really finalized it.

I still don't get why people hate on TWR2. I get it, it didn't meet your expectations, nor did it fit the description of what the devs were proposing at the very, very start nearly 4 years ago. That time is gone, past by us. For most of us, it seems. The patches makes the game livable enough and it is actually still enjoyable. Naturally, the experience will be enhanced by mods. Long story short, it's a decent game. Not the best in the series, but a hell lot better than Empire - THAT I can say.

What if you have one city left as a enemy in the civil war alive, thus keeping the civil war going, but there isnt a threat, and you said it yourself you cant have 2 civil wars at the same time, allowing yourself to keep very high influence.

That was his first civil war he just kept the influence down throughout the campaign and then let it build up here. A second civil war is impossible in the game mechanics

I had 18 legions (i´m not sure with the numbers anymore) and close to every province on the map. Half of the legions and land was automatically my enemy now
