i dont know , siege battles were always kinda boring to me . they are less about micro management skills and much slower . the best players always played land battles back in the day , that is where the skill was showcased . but i agree these sieges take a lot of tactical planning but less micro management skills and speed coordination . in land battles VS truly elite opponent everything happens so fast and you have to react and make decisions in a split second whereas even slow or bad land battle players can shine here in siege battles . if they have a good planning and make the smart decisions that is . defenders did a poor job with their skirmisher units and that was probably the key factor ... you have to play somewhat bad if you lose a siege battle as a defender (unless the tournament rules favour the attackers of course) .

Me too Apollo! My favorite memory of a video of yours I watched was one of a seven kingdoms mod for atilla. I can channel my memory and picture coming home from school during the winter, turning on the furnace and watching whichever video you had uploaded during the day. Life wasn’t exactly the most productive but it sure was simple. Thank you for the memory of simpler times.

I watched both of these fight, I feel like both times the defenders gave the attackers way too much room to moved. They should have at least made an effort to him the walls, with the slinger up on the the wall it’s a different fight. Even if they blow the wall in the same way they’re trapped but in an effective place.

When you showed the Roman slingers and they was out of ammo I was like "dang it". Then shortly after you showed that pile of slinger ammo on the ground behind the Roman lines that was shot by BorB I thought to myself "it be cool to see the Roman slingers run up and grab all that BorB slinger ammo off the ground and sling it back"

I have never played this game, but do you think it would have been helpful for the defenders to have cavalry units that could have sallied out from that abandoned break point and harrassed the attacker's archers lined up just outside the walls? Heck, might it have been useful to try sending an infantry unit that way. Those archer units absolutely decimated them.

cav unit are extremely useful at the end game and at trying to find oppurtunity . a shock cav can almost single handedly turn the tide in the right situation. but against decent players opening are hard to find.

Easy to say in hindsight, but the defenders might have done better if each had a unit of light cav instead of a unit of skirmishers to sally out and harass the attackers skirmishers ? The defenders also went with factions light on armour. But that would have meant a different battle.

I was cheering for PF. It was just one deadly mosh pit right there at the walls. As soon as that last minute flank movement was done by PF I saw balance of power slowly shift. Than when all the breaking started to happen the shift of power flew up for PF.

Why attackers did not deploy archers on the walls? To preserve them from defenders fire? Height advantage on the walls, does not grant a bonuses? On top of clear line of sight.

it does, but no. its a very situational thing to do. takes a long time to get into position, and also limit fireing angle. also archers will have clear line of sight anywhere anyway.

I really enjoy your replays. Constructive criticism here if you are amenable to hearing it. Work on your narration, talk a little bit slower and breath at normal, regular intervals. You don't have to feel rushed to explain everything that happens, as it happens, you can go back, explain something that already occured as the game play gives you the time to. And of course, confidence. Reduce the "you knows," "uhs" "Oh my God" never say "I don't know." wait until you know, and then record the audio layer. Really enjoy your content. Just trying to help a little.

Cycle charging exposes the backs of the unit being cycled and has a definite risk associated if used. You can see cycled units being shot in the back multiple times in this battle. There is no comparison between cycle charging (a legitimate tactic with fair risk associated) and push through (a crappy noob exploit).

as someone who has played over 6kh in this game and over 3 thousand multiplayer player battles over the past 3 years , with max win streak for about 20 games in random lobby 3v3 and max win streak of 40 games in 1v1 random lobby and basically meet most of the top players in my time, i would like to say that seneys is pretty decent, but i wouldnt count as the greatest lmao. . the rest i have only seen a couple times in lobby and arent that frequent as players during the time when i was playing.wining a tourney in a age where most top players have already quit the game is far from being the greatest. if i have to rate top players, i d put pacifist, magnus on the top, but like many other names would have come first before i d say you know these ppl are the tops of tops in rome 2.

The attackers created two holes in the walls, and then placed their archers right next to them. Defenders never tried to attack those archers. It would have saved them 600+ troops.

Kinda insane how a fortress defense has absolutely no defensive siege equipment, doesn’t utilize walls or their defensive position, and try’s to fight an army with tons of offensive siege and archers, fights in the breach with foot soldiers in the open just waiting to get destroyed. Its pretty apparently who is going to win before the battle even starts lol guess this what happens when nerds with out any tactical knowledge fight video game battles.
