Thanks for playing! This save was a weird one but a ton of fun. I didn't confederate Louen because he declared war on me and I wanted to wipe him out for good. I lost the campaign because I bit off more than I could chew. The Maelstrom if you noticed had Chaos corruption. Beastmen spawned there and wiped that out, then headed towards me with 3 full stacks. Plus tge rogue army in tge mountains, and Ikit and Moghur shortly declared war to clean up the south. I am sure I could recover but I had fun. That is what is important. Also didnt realize I was on Hard and not very hard no wonder why I thought "the game got easier in 3.0" oops. Edit: Oh, the reason I didn't confederate was because he declared war on me before I finished the research and thought "The King thinks I am a traitor? I will show him traitor." So chose not to confederate and instead to destroy him.

Low reliability was because I threatened Fay Enchantress into confederation. If I didnt she would have died the next turn since she was beseiged with 1 turn left till surrender.

I won't speak for others, but a reason i like to use balanced armies is bc it keeps the game interesting for me. Sure an archer spam is really fun and powerful but it gets really boring for me after a while. Sometimes its fun to role play a faction instead of trying to paint the map over and over.

I like playing with high amounts of the same unit so I don't get overwhelmed with having so many different types of things to do and can laser focus on doing one thing right. Like I had a lokhir Fellheart campaign where I was rocking 3 different ranged units (Darkshards, Shades, Black Ark Corsairs), with 3 completely different ranges, with 2 or 3 completely different firing arcs, some of which can fire while moving and some that can't. That was too far for me After that having a Kossar Doomstack feels goood. For me playing balanced armies then going doomstacks when you're bored and vice versa is part of the fun.

If I remember correctly, back in WH2 when you researched a confederation technology, you got an event, where you could either confederate a Bretonnian faction for money or do nothing. I guess he didn't have enough money to confederate Couronne when that was researched.

I find I can regularly hide cavalry in trees near the deployment boarder, by placing them facing the. Boarder, as opposed to their backs to the boarder. They can get those few crucial pixels closer into the Forrest terrain. They’ll be moved after starting the battle anyway, so it doesn’t matter what direction they face during deployment.

@@MagicianCamille I mean, sometimes the AI Bretonnian has an elite army and a bunch of ones with archer spam, so unless you know which Bretonnian army you're going to fight you don't know if Questing Knight or Grail Knights would more cost efficient. So I can't quite call this a mistake unless he saw this particular army 3 turns ago (giving him time to change his own army composition). If he knew this exact army was coming, yeah he needed more anti-large. A wizzard on the other hand is always useful. Heck even a life wizzard who rushed Flesh to Stone and Regrowth (saving Earth Blood for later), a heavens one who rushed Comet of Casandora, or a Beast Wizzard focused on Flock of Doom would have done this army wonders. For example, Regrowth, while not optimized for knight armies, would be enough to save some of the models from dying and also allow it to fight at full strength, going from winded to fresh.

I don't know about difficulty affecting auto resolve results anymore. I know it used to, but recently I tried actually testing it between swapping difficulty mid campaign and manufacturing the same battles on two separate campaigns using console commands without swapping the difficulty. It's been the same results in auto resolve no matter the difficulty.

it would be fun to have a video on the possible dooms stacks depending on the factions. Because the Bretonnian army seemed balanced to me and I realize that I find it difficult to tell myself that it is a unit to abuse at the end of the game

Just play more and see what unit performs better in most situations. The best doomstack unit for Bretonnia is hyppogryph knight, for example. Flying monster cavalry with bonus vs. large, the best bretonnian unit. Also Legend did unit tier lists for all factions in TWW2 and 3, he goes into detail about every single unit.

Legend does tier lists of the factions units - with one or two exceptions, you take an S tier unit and its a possible doomstack. The only exceptions i can think of are the Skaven and Chaos Dwarf weapons teams doomstacks, they require multiple unit types.

Not sure why Legend doesn't use waypoints when he's kiting a dangerous unit with similar speed around the map, so much less damage taken.

the problem with waypoints is that if the unit gets bumped even slightly they'll forget the entire waypoint. If that happens and you stop paying attention to it you might look back and its completely wiped out. so the thought is to constantly keep checking on them. That way if they do get caught it'll only be for a moment because its still constantly on your mind which is what happened here.

@@halwakka504 Yep I've encountered the same sort of problem which is why i resolve to just not use them and keep checking up on the unit every few seconds. It's impossible to keep my eye on everything at all times, nobody is omnipresent that way, but the mistakes are usually trivial. There's nothing wrong with making a trivial mistake here and there if the grand scheme of your plan is executed successfully.

@@BrettonianKnight It's not a hard cap, you're essentially soft capped on your farm economy only. You can easily play around and ignore the Peasant mechanic altogether by just relying on Industry instead. Although why you'd want to is beyond me. the Peasant economy mechanic is only really a limiting thing until you research "The Unification of Bretonnia" once you've done that you have plenty to go around. If you're still lacking in chaff units you can just recruit more via the Outpost system.

@@EveloGrave dont take it personally bro, its just that a lot of people like to shit on Bretonnia for their playstyle of cavalry and peasant economy, when in reality brets remain a solid faction I am unsure that more infantry alone is enough to change their game since their roster consists almost exclusively of cav, which subsequently pushes you towards having no infantry at all because of the amount of micro required.
