thats the only reason why this game is popular at all; seeing your favorite warhammer fantasy units fight. the strategic aspects, the campaign, the tactics, the battles and sieges, they all are A LOT worse than most total war games, especially compared to medieval 2. But the game has a monopoly on warhammer fantasy currently (as every other game dev just fucks up so bad). In general the only other decent warhammer game with rts is Dawn of War 1 and 2.... and thats 40k, not fantasy

Legend regarding viewership. It is a phenomenon occuring in all audiovisual platforms, KZbin and Twitch. Pandemic lockdown created a bubble that distorsionated numbers. Right now numbers are reaching normal equilibrium again. So it is not your fault, it just audiovisual market readjusting

I've had the AI beeline towards hidden units that were hidden from the start of battle. Very annoying.

From what I can gather if the ai has no other units that it is able to attack it will "find" your hidden units. Very noticeable with things like hawk rider doomstacks.

I think its a side affect of the latest update that made it so that you cant have a stalking unit solo a settlement battle with by stalking onto a control point and winning like that.

I love it when enemy makes a doomstack depending on a situation I will even let them win couple of settlements just so i can get some Doomstack on doomstack action. Of course my Saurus Scar Doomstack is unbeateble.

I think you need to specify what you mean by a "this is total war campaign" because people who aren't subbed to your channel might not know what that is. People who are already subbed and watch your videos regularly obviously know, but think about it; if you're trying to entice new subscribers in, then it's safe to say those new subs haven't watch a lot of your videos. It'd be better to specify that a "this is total war" campaign means you will be declaring war on everyone instantly and never making peace. Makes the premise more interesting to potential subs who are just discovering your channel.

Azhag is actually better now through his equipment, his armour gives not only 15% phys resistance, but additional 15% wardsave. I'm pretty sure in wh2 he gets only 15% phys resistance in his armour

Yeah, I tried to make dwarf invisible sniper engineer doomstack and it is quite anoying, that the AI just rushes towards my hidden snipers, instead of the lord, that marches towards them... I take it, that the AI wants to find hidden enemies, but sometimes it looks like they cheat a bit too much... (the sniper doomstack is still a lot of fun to play.)

@@andrewtobias4545 AS soon as I hurt them enough, they rush some enemies towards lord and the rest go looking for my hidden snipers. Usually they go right for them. If they were faster, maybe they could go out of the way, but you know... dwarfs...

Or cheating, as they go quite dirrectly for hidden units. Once I played Welfs, I had full flying army (Sisters faction) and a lord on foot. She was hidden in a big forest. The ai. went right for her. Like... she was moving through big forest away from her starting position and they found her in less than minute. And yes, whole army was on her track, not like that it made some elaborate plan and went wide :D

@@jajsem1109 I mean if you are a human player, wouldn't you just go straight in the direction of attack to reveal the one who did it as the AI did? The only advantage of sniping is they cannot target you with range attack or spell, if AI let you shoot freely they are dumb and not fun to play with. And the hidden function does exactly what it is supposed to if the AI comes to you probably because they were trying to flank your main army and accidentally spoil your hidden units. When I play wood-elf and hide all of my army in the forest, the AI didn't know where to go so they dispersed their army to find me.

Yeah, actually change the intelligence of AI when we level up the difficultie, not activate cheat. Easy ai should be stupid and hard ai should be smart

I've seen it in other ways but you'd get doomstack in WH2 from time to time. I once had to deal with a harkon necrofex spam. I had a sisters spam and so BARELY won.

Excellent video Legend! Those who call this cheese, it is a legitimate strategy which smaller forces triumph over larger ones many times in history. Smaller detachment baits / holds back bulk of enemy force, main force smash and pick off at the disorganized / stragglers of the enemy forces, repeat until you win

Ahh yes, history where the enemy sends in there lord for suicide. Now for the rest, yes there are instances where it happened but usually in a guerrilla warfare type situation not in a open battlefield where both sides know from the start each others strength and numbers which they do in Total War unless it's an ambush battle.

This would have been a battle even a veteran would have tried to avoid without reinforcements. Instead analyzing the battlefield calmly can reveal opportunities to win, with minimal losses too. This is a valuable lesson to learn.

Back in WH2 during the WE update they made it so that the first one second of travel for a projectile made it pass through obstructions without issue. Basically they could shoot through a tree line as long as it only obstructed the projectile for the first second of flight time then it could continue on. Not sure if that made it to WH3 but it was never specifically removed in any of the patch notes. Just an FYI for setting up your ambushes

I think sometimes (or all of the time) the AI has vision of hidden units for a tiny, split second. I swear I had an AI army drop an army ability on units I had hidden in the trees AND behind terrain the very moment I hit "start" on the battle.

one time Katarin rolled out an elemental bear doomstack during my Drycha campaign and it was one of the worst battles ever. normally I'd have my deepwood scouts hit em but the cavalry were smacking them. All of my dryads, tree kin, and feral bears were focusing on the big bears. We survived because I threw my elf units to distract the cavalry and I was able to let the missile units shoot down one bear at a time.

I had the opposite in my first WH3 campaign, playing as Kislev, where Drycha brought her 7 treemen and 5-6 zoats along with that damn block on casting, really tough battles and she kept reviving every turn. Very fun though, I heard all this WH3 is super easy talk, but the Katarin campaign on legendary to me was the same level of difficult as Wulfhart in WH2

I could copy you exactly play by play, and the AI just wouldn't react the same way. For example, Azag would've never ran away to suicide like that in my battle. Their whole army would have completely ignored my lords and heros and kept searching the trees for my infantry instead. I couldn't get their attention with anything short of a direct suicide charge to lock them in melee. For me it seems like the AI only prioritizes high value targets they can easily kill. If they can't catch you, or do enough damage they just ignore you.

One thing I noticed is that the AI forgets about hidden units after a minute or so. Makes sense, since on forest dominated maps hidden units can still move to a different place. And that would just confuse the AI and lead to easy exploits. On a side note, I really hate TWW3 maps. They're nothing more than normal maps with circles of woods here and there. And they're all like that. Circles and more circles. Does anyone know of a mod to fix TWW3 horrible maps?
