@jaguarj19426 ай бұрын
It doesn’t really matter what the intention was, the tackle was dangerous. Mistakes happen but when you let them go unpunished, more “mistakes” tend to happen. If you can gain any kind of advantage in a game by making a mistake that endangers the health of another person then that just incentivises riskier behaviour which can ruin the entire sport and not just one game.

Lomax was good, too. The weak links unfortunately were Hynes and Tedesco. Hynes is a great bloke but his defense is found out at this level, and he was all at sea tonight. His kicking game was terrible, and I lost count of the number of times he was tackled in possession because he didn't know what to do. He's not a bad player, but the praise for him the last two years has been over the top. He hasn't even won a finals game. And last year was a year too many for Tedesco, and tonight was two years too many. He's not the player he was four years ago, but he spends the whole game trying to pretend he is. He hogged the ball all night, just like game 1 last year, and did nothing with it expect stifle the attack. He's just ruining his legacy now.

Agree with both of you, my thoughts exactly...... Hynes over rated, good at club level but that's it. Should bring in Luke Keary or Moses as halfback next game, and drop Tedesco (past his use by date) for Dylan again. No way Tedesco should play origin again. Madge to shuffle his reserve bench better. Freddy's zero tolerance policy on any sort of contact with the head is predictable and at times laughable. Fatty and to a lesser degree Munster were spot on in their assessment of the hit. There would literally be hundreds of tackles in this game and every game where if the ball runner slips at the last minute what would be considered a good tackle turns in to a head high shot. Accidents are going to happen, it's the nature of the sport. If Walsh had run in and not slipped and Sualii had collected him like that then send him off and suspend him for 12 weeks, but what we saw there should have been no more than a sin binning. QLD then get the benefit of a replacement player, and it's game on. The game was effectively over at that point.

If head office was serious about concussion, they wouldn't promo the game by showing Gallon punching Miles in the head. It is a contact sport where the difference between a chest high tackle that draws praise, and a shoulder to the head that leads to a send-off, is a millisecond (and a foot slip). The head office should stop their hypocrisy of promoting the game as a hard and physical game on one hand then punishing player mistakes to protect themselves from possible future litigation over concussions. How can anyone state this is a "polarising" decision? You couldn't get a clearer example of a reckless high tackle, he should get 6 weeks. Anyone suggesting "it's a yellow, not sure about a red" has perhaps had a few head-knocks themselves.

The game is so fast now losing a player sent off is match ending. NSW cant match up with QLD losing a center or winger. That has been the problem for several years the outside size and speed of QLD add to that Hynes defense is not good enough at this level. If Sualaii is out they will have to bring in Mitchell, he is a pain in the arse but they need to bring him in. I don't know about Luaii either. Cherry Evans might be better than the credit he is given.

So NRL to review the Video again in order to make the appropriate penalty for Joseph Suali whether 2, 3 or 4 weeks on the side and also to reflect on the situation to do better on the field. Mareta

Its a send off but it should also be a reserve to come on after 10 mins. Perhaps even a time proportional for the remaining game time. I don't think you can read the rest of the NSW teams performance after the loss of the Sua'ali'i as indicative of their abilities, they are better than that and were constantly adjusting their game plan.
@Justice4Canaan6 ай бұрын
I've been watching on the club level every game people go at Walshy hard, it is no coincidence. Many people said before the game something like this would happen. Surprised it resulted in a send-off, not surprised it happened though. If you are gonna winge about a man down so much, I think you need to rethink whether your Origin team is worth spit. It was time for NSW to step up, instead, they just winged about being a man down. Well f me dead, were all the other players on your side useless? Disadvantaged sure, but that is where you prove yourself.

It was a send off. When Tedesco got knocked out a few years ago from a high shot and did not return nothing happened to qld. That different standard gave qld the series that year. All the fans want is consistency.

Why does a send off have to result in 1 man down for the whole game? Why cant the guilty party be sent from the game. Team is down 1 man for 10 mins. But after that period its back to 13 on 13 with the 18th man activated.

It was a sendoff pure and simple. The real question is whether teams should suffer too much because of one individual's actions. Allowing them to be replaced after 10 mins would allow the team to have a chance to play a proper game while the player sent off would be out of the game as punishment for their personal actions.
