Sir, did you know Elmer Lawrence? He played with Charlie Pride, Ray Price and others. We lost him a while back.

Hey Mr. Vest, great show. Have any of you heard of my dad Boots Harris ? He played steel with Curly Williams and the Georgia Peach Pickers of " Half as Much" fame.

Hey Jeremy! Just the other day I picked one Curly Williams song ("Southern Belle From Nashville Tennessee") to include it into my bands setlist. I chose that particuliar song only because of that amazing steel solo of your dad (I guess Clyde was his name, right?). He played beautifully on this record (and on other stuff of the Georgia Peach Pickers). Especially this solo was so well drafted, vibrant and catchy, I could not help to find out what he was doing and finally managed to copy every nuance your dad played. This was so much fun, I am really thankful that this fine steel player came to my attention...(by the way: do you know your dad's tunings? I learned and played it for one week on my E13th neck, untill I found out that he most certainly did it on A6. Little stupid me, haha ;-) Best wishes from Berlin, Germany
