great review, I like that this does look like just any other sponsored review. This is very helpful that you went into the quality control and built quality. I know not everyone cares because all they are looking for is pure performance. You pointed out that Lenovo has somewhat mediocre customer service which is one dilemma I'm contemplating between this or the 2022 Scar Strix 17" which has the same 3070ti with 150W.

i ordered a dell 130W usb-c power supply for 60EUR ... its the only one on the market. lenovo claim 135w over usb-c ... lets see how it will work out, it should have enough power ;). i get it on monday. they made this huge power supply to fast charge the battery and able to have full power at the same moment. without charging battery it should be possible to use smaller power supply.

in desktop maybe, but in laptops AMD is better, and im an intel fanboy, i always use intel, but i was disappointed by intel processors in laptops: 1. They get too hot, more than amd, they can reach 100 degrees. 2. The battery life is too short, max 5 hours if you're lucky, but in this model you don't even reach 4 hours. The advantage is that the performance is higher and you have thunderbolt 4.0.

Because in the amd models none passed 85 degrees in both the cpu and the gpu.

I had been waiting for it for about 2 months after its announsment, but due to not being relised as promised even in China (where I am right now) I decided to buy MSI VECTOR GP76, 17" 1440p/240HZ, 1T, with the same CPU GPU. And GPU TDP on mine is 150. 32 DDR4. Dont know if it was a right or wrong decision, cuz never got a chance to play around with this Legion to give it a fair comparison, but I really enjoy my beast of a laptop. Great build quality! It does get hot thou... Which is probably impossible to avoid now on any powerfull machine, I guess.... Thanx for the review!

Maybe it's not being picked up well by the camera and is an issue like you say, but to me that IPS glow looks totally normal and not bad at all. If you roll the dice for another it might be worse. Also, yeah, these have poor trackpads - I had the 2021 version and it's garbage compared with my 2015 MacBook Pro - Use a mouse. I have the white one on order - Long wait and pricer but really wanted that colour with the blue backlit keyboard. These Legions have excellent keyboards but I also have a HHKB Snow White that I want to use with it, hence having to order the matching white laptop (yes, I am a tart). BTW if you ever upgrade the RAM get DDR4 32 or 64 GB instead of DDR5, as DDR4 is still as fast or faster (and cheaper). For people asking silly questions in the comments: Try watching the video first, yeah? And in response to anyone saying they want the 240Hz variable refresh rate option (confusing marketing by Lenovo on this anyway): In the UK this exact model is pre-built and in-stock, not a custom order with selectable options, so you have to go with the 165Hz screen, which is still plenty fast.

Lenovo definitely performs way better. I think it will still over perform the new 2022 g15. HOWEVER, I personally hate the look of it. The g15 is just way better looking. The tacky chassis would also bother me quite a bit. So sure I think Lenovo 5 pro is great but they sacrificed build quality and aesthetics for performance. The g15 performs amazing enough but looks awesome. Also the g15 still uses amd. So this seems more of a Intel win as well.

Their customer service is poor. I remember having to open a PayPal case against them because they would not refund the warranty on a laptop order I cancelled because they delayed shipment by a month. They also have zero interest in sorting out issues in terms of advance replacements or not making you wait a month for a replacement if anything goes wrong with an in demand item.

Name a better company. Ever dealt with HP ? No ? You have to send anything to Poland and it takes weeks for repair. You always call people in India.. they speak another language. I never had any issues with warranty/service through their local lenovo partners. Mostly all repairs where done within days. They order the parts from netherland warehouse, they arrive next day and repair is done. There was a time where any part came directly from HK, this was terrible. But now they have most parts in netherlands. Maybe local UK problem, as always after you decide to left the EU. All onlineshop problems are related to digitalriver. Lenovo has nothing to do with this.

The 2022 Legion 5 Pro refresh is not worth it. 2021's Legion 5 Pro with Ryzen 7 5800H has better value without losing much performance. My 2021 Legion 5 Pro with 64GB DDR4 has a score of 13000 in Cinebench R23 multi-core. The RTX 3070 Ti is around regular mobile 3080 level. That's only around 5-15fps more in most of the games that Jarrod's Tech has tested. Every 2021 Legion 5 Pro had a 165Hz QHD screen. The WUXGA (1920x1200) and 240Hz screen were mediocre additions. It would've been better to increase the DCI-P3 coverage to 100% and Adobe RGB to 80-85% for this refresh. With that color accuracy, you'd be getting a MacBook Pro's screen in this laptop minus the miniLED and without the smearing MacBooks have while scrolling. Depending on your country, 2021 AMD L5P will be way cheaper. You can already find 2021 L5P deals at sub-$1600 price point in the US for not much less real-world performance.
