As Salamanders player the reaction is awesome it basically changes the game every time IF you can bait someone into a charge. As a Word Bearers player I think DC is right it is top tier just for the tears running down your opponents face when you remove one marine after a 10 man volkite squad tries to shoot you off an objective.

As mentioned in stream, I think the Ultramarines and Iron Warriors traits are the same power level. IW allows you to double fire the same unit, Ultras allows you to fire that unit and a different one. Very very similiar. IW one also the 'gets hot' rule applies. Whats the opinion here? Is the IW one better?
@GarstyАй бұрын
Only half way through the stream so not sure it moves but Salamanders also get the negative of potential wounds at the end of the combat so would feel it should be in Balanced due to that

Would have been interesting to see the blackshields one in there. I can see that its legion only. And not including stuff like mech, militia, solar types of ones as they are completely different armies. But Blackshields are kinda the same. I think i pretty much agree with all the rankings apart from j think WB might deserve to go in the top bracket. Obvs it depends on if the enemy is playing lots of small units or small arms fure or maybe a melee based army. Or if they use stuff like 10 man lascannon / Myrmidon plasma spam or whatever.

Yeah I think it’s the depending on opponent list which doesn’t make them go top top

The White Scars reaction is game-winning. If you're not prepared for it, it will put you on the back foot and completely ruin your plans. I play White Scars, and the reaction more than makes up for a lacklustre legion trait.

The only thing that throws me off about the space wolves advanced reaction is when it triggers. Does the opponent have to formally declare, "I'm moving this unit."
@ExtreaminatusАй бұрын
Yes, a move has to be declared
@SNBattleReportsАй бұрын
Correct
@T_G_WebbАй бұрын
So the claim is the opponent declares they’re moving a unit, you then declare you’re using your advanced reaction, they then knowing that move their full movement away from your reacting unit so that even with moving the highest initiative the charge is still impossible in most cases? If so then “no prey escapes the wolf” is the most ironic thing I’ve read in this game so far.

NL should be 6+1d6 or just a flat "up to 12 inches".

Agreed

I really do not agree on the TS one, I personally think it's super lacklustre. On paper a 3+ invuln looks very good, but you have to pass a psychic check. You can't use it on vehicles, you can't use it on dreads, you can't use it on artillery, you can't use it on bots. If you evaluate your options, you can only basically use it on infantry, and the units you most want it on are going to be ld7-8, so very much prone to failing it. Who's it really worth on? Terminators, already with a 4+? A HSS? Maybe, but do you really wanna risk losing 3 lascannons? A tac squad that you really want on an objective? Again maybe, but you're still at a very high risk of losing 3 guys and being even more prone to running away or being wiped out by subsequent shooting. I'd just use a shroud reaction, which is far more reliable. And that's the main thing with this advanced reaction: why would you ever expend your 1 shooting reaction with that instead of a shoot back or a reliable shroud (which works on many more units anyway)? The perils back at the enemy part is laughable. Again, if you're banking on this reaction to do some damage it means you're running on fumes and don't really have anything to shoot with in your army, it's a desperation move. It never worked for me, just once I thought of doing a very cool thing with it, the high gamble 5d chess move, but it did nothing. A dread with 2 wounds shot at my tac squad, I activated my advanced reaction, failed the check and did perils on the dread: it killed 2 of my guys, generated one wound on the dread, which was saved anyway on an invulnerable. Granted I got unlucky, I should've just kept my reaction to shoot with something else or just get the shroud. I think it has to go in the bottom tier also because of the awful feeling it comes with. Killing your own guys with a reaction is just horrible, nothing compared to the WB one or even the IH one, where you get massive benefits. You use shooting and assault phase reactions for 2 things: mitigating or doing damage. The TS advanced reaction does neither reliably, so it's a hard pass for me.
@SNBattleReportsАй бұрын
So the lowest tier??
@AndrewPeverellsАй бұрын
@SNBattleReports I'd say so, yeah. It's not good enough as it is, not on SoH level, but it goes to the bottom because of the horrible feeling of losing your own guys
