Why aren't more people talking about the VRR with an OLED screen? The Go2 is the first handheld with both, right? And the only one thus far announced? It settles the OLED vs VRR debate on the top two current handhelds. It's genuine innovation in the field instead of just different numbers and it seems like Lenovo would be leaning heavy into it and more Techtubers would be talking about it.
@okestgamer13 күн бұрын
So probably the biggest reason at least for myself is the legit overwhelm of info pushed your way during CES. I know the Go 2 is VRR, but in the moment I wasn't 100% sure on the Go S. How it works, is you basically have a 30 min slot to attend the event that was setup similar to a bar/club. There were a few Go S devices and 1 Go 2. During that time there are a large number of others asking about the device while you try to film or test it. So basically I couldn't get my ducks in a row quick enough to get all the confirmed info haha. I think I got all, but didn't want to falsely say it was vrr if I didn't hear for sure. I did talk to a rep after the video and confirmed it

The new version running Steam OS would be a great handheld if not for the decision to stick with 16 gigs of RAM. I honestly don't know what they're thinking. Granted Linux is more efficient than Windows and current games CAN run with 16 gigs. If I'm in the market now I'm buying a console for the next 5 years and want a something that is going to keep up with future games that are getting more resource intensive. It just makes sense to offer it with at least 24 gigs if not 32 especially since it's not something you can upgrade yourself.

@@radicalturkey You don't know what you are talking about. 8 CPU cores with 16 threads is actually bad for handhelds. The Zen3+ quad core will allow more memory bandwidth to be focused on the GPU. high end gaming pc minimum controller standards ought to be additional: 4 x M buttons 2 x Trackpad = navigating a desktop 8 x N small buttons top of controller = 1~ 8 number keys of a keyboard.
@okestgamer12 күн бұрын
Interesting idea, would be curious how that would be in practice
@AdmiralBison12 күн бұрын
@@okestgamer I think it's reasonable. Basically, just requesting 8 x N buttons on top of what the Steam Deck already has. You've had some hands on with the Ayaneo 2S, I assume. So, you remember those 2 small LC/RC buttons top of the controller? Those can be the N keys I'm referring to.

I just need windows for Game Pass games and those pesky anti-cheat games (COD, valorant). Other than that, SteamOS all the way.

Exactly. My ALLY X is better. I plug in my Razor Core X on the couch and the hype starts. 2m USB4 cable and it feels like I’m just at the charger. But have 13k Timespy Score Performance!

Lower price though, so more options for entry level. It's a good thing to have a couple of options for consumers to work within their budget imo
