Farouk was testing out this "body replacing ray gun" on Lenny/Amy because obviously he wants to do this for himself. The only question is who's body does Farouk want to take over? Most likely he wants to take over David's body, because a psychic taking over another psychic body would probably amplify his power. Also, he's probably still hell bent on sticking it to Xavier.

This episode of Legion seemed like an understated horror movie, seems fitting as it was Chapter 13. :) I liked it and was on the edge of my seat the whole time. They eye thing was what threw me. Aubrey has lovely eyes and seeing them as blue was off-putting. I didn't remember Amy had blue eyes. I didn't think that it was her from the flashback as Lenny and David shared a friendship as well as headspace, so flashbacks like that were not a tip off to me. I was surprised at the "rebirth", Lenny looking very much like a newborn in adult form was quite jarring. I liked how once the realization of the horror that took place to make this happen, that Lenny consoled David. That was a nice touch. Originally, I was thinking it would or could have been an episode played with more of comedic touch as Lenny is so funny and spicy, but she is more the victim in this one, of the Shadowking. I was hoping for some levity, but they did a great job. I originally thought it wouldn't be as "invasion of the body snatchers", though, perhaps Syd and David would recognize Lenny as a passenger of the new body, where they all shared headspace versus a take-over, rebirth type thing. Either way, Noah Hawley is a Next-level mutant himself and Aubrey Plaza deserves all the awards! :)

They just need to open their minds up a little bit and be okay with never knowing everything about the plot until the season finale. I feel like the prerequisites to be a viewer of this show are to either have decent to above average intelligence, to be extremely creative or to have taken a good bit of hallucinogens in your time lol. Having an open mind is definitely the most important bit though because if someone has never questioned their reality or sanity/insanity before, then they probably won't find this show very intriguing.

I don't remember if this was one of the questions you guys were asking the fans, but I think it's a little bit more clear now that the Shadow King's current plan was to kill David's sister so he would find out about her murder in the most horrifying way possible, which would completely push him over the edge and cause his mind to shatter into multiple personalities. The next promo kind of shows it as David being in multiple timelines, but I think he just perceives it that way as how he copes with his massive split in his personalities that we have seen a little bit of this season with the voices in his head. I think the Shadow King is fully aware of this flaw in David's powers, which is why he had gone through the motions of making that divergence in David's personalities. If it's anything like the comics, it will be one additional personality that controls it's own individual power (or any new powers that mutate within David), which is why we see Caveman David use telekinesis in the promo for the very first time in the series. This may have something to do with the SK's body or it may just be the Shadow King deciding to take out David as a threat once and for all. Another theory I have is maybe he is causing David to go nuclear as a way to draw out his father, Xavier, since Xavier may be the only person left alive that knows where the Shadow King's body is located.

I figure it out, the "black goo chick-insect spider" is better called a "chimera" at this point. Chimera: mythical or fictional animal with parts taken from various animals, or to describe anything composed of very disparate parts, or perceived as wildly imaginative, implausible, or dazzling. The seeing of a Chimera was an "omen for disaster." Chimera, in genetics, is an organism or tissue that contains at least two different sets of DNA, most often originating from the fusion of as many different zygotes (fertilized eggs). From this, we could assume that "the delusion" depicted as chimera, meaning an idea or assumption (the chick/egg) has corrupted by shadow king (black goo spider) are being planted in characters & us "audiences." Every episode always include this "chimera" as a reminder for us. Also remember that in the first episode, Lenny was depicted as the one that NURTURE & FIRST in contact with the "chimera." It's like she's its mother (or surrogate one). THE CONCLUSION: Shadow king don't need Amahl Farouk body! He's just trolling with everybody so he could infiltrate David again in confusion! Remember, his motive as of now has always been a "revenge" on Prof. X. FACT: David's body IS stronger than Farouk's body. But again, I could be very wrong.

Netflix is just better by default because they release all their episodes all at once, but it also seems like they don't have a studio that cares about ratings as religiously as cable networks do, which is really refreshing. Pretty much everyone I know that watches Legion has done so on Hulu. Nobody watches TV like that anymore to sit down at a specific time and watch it. The rating system is flawed to begin with honestly.

+Kula Productions - Iron Fist and The Defenders was more Disney Marvel screwing up by hiring that awful show runner Scott Buck, who coincidentally is also to blame for the horror he created with Inhumans. He is the absolute worst person in show business to date and Disney kept giving him huge projects to overlook like a bunch of jackasses. Hopefully several people were fired over both Inhumans and Iron Fist otherwise there is no God.

I don't know why the gamespot hosts didn't like that final scene. I thought it was absolutely crazy. I was unconsciously hugging myself that whole time that tension was building up for David to realize what happened. It was horrifyingly shocking. I knew what was happening when I saw the flashback, but the whole time I was thinking, "they're not gonna do what I think they're gonna do. That would be too fucked up". After seeing the next promo though, it makes sense because it looks like its that thing that pushes David completely over the edge.

I'm beginning to think everything at Division 3 is a delusion or a dream or something. SOMETHING isn't right there, it seems like a dream. Even the crazy cafeteria river boat lunch room bringing waffles! LIKE THAT SEEMS to much like a dream, and all the giant green hands. To that random cow, that disappeared and wasn't mentioned again. I don't think David is awake or where he think's he is. Looking at a few scenes I feel like Oliver is in the real world, while David and company are trapped somewhere, maybe they're still in the maze?

Yeah I know in the comics he can create and shape reality, He literally took the X-men and mutant kind out of reality in one of his arcs but he himself didn't even realize he did this until later on. SO, saying that. It would "make sense" if this is outside of reality. But by who's doing Farouks or Davids and to what end? Is this the distraction they talked about in episode 2? With hints and clues of whats really happening scattered throughout? I DO believe season 1 was really happening, but this, season 2 so far feels like a dream state, I don't know if that's just the art of the show or if it means something. All I can say is this season really gets you thinking about every episode and what you just say, while you wait for the next.

We also need to remember season 1 episode 8...where the team of Division Agents were watching David and Company and said "Send the Equinox" WHAT is the Equinox exactly?! Was it that REALLY what that orb was? ORRRR something else? Something to contain them in a suspended state?And everyone in that scene has YET to be seen again. FIVE episodes in, and they seemed to be at that moment that head of Division 3, watching and commanding. Now from the comics, there is no technology called that exactly. There is another mutant called that but I don't see how he could be related as is powerset is basically hot and cold.. But we still don't have answers for any of that

It seemed to me that Farouk and Oliver took a sample of Lenny’s DNA and put it into the device, then they used the device to reshape Amy into a “Lenny” body. Then Farouk put Lenny’s consciousness into Amy’s body. I think Amy’s and Lenny’s minds are intermingled. I also think that either everyone at Division 3 is inside a mind (David’s?) OR a mutant who can literally warp reality is there (Baskethead?). I think they are setting up Baskethead to be the ultimate Big Bad, someone even worse than Farouk. I still don’t think David is the unreliable narrator this season. He’s the only one who is sane here. Everyone else at Division 3 is corrupted by delusions.

If I may add something, Oliver said "What is one, plus one?" Not "What is one plus one equal to?" I think he's implying that while Amahl Farouk may reunite with his body, his psychic form and physical form are still separate entities, or perhaps that Amahl is still reliant on Oliver, and should Oliver die, Farouk dies.

I'm thinking Farouk's weakness that Oliver mentions, is Oliver himself. Maybe he'll sacrifice himself before they find Farouk's body, he's just looking for a way that the Shadow King won't be able to see coming.

While I agree that would appear to be the most plausible explanation to Oliver's riddle, it's not really clear that Amahl would be destroyed if Oliver dies. First, Amahl was able to exist in the astral plane and later infect David's mind as a child, despite his body being killed on a separate continent before David was even born, so he clearly doesn't need a living body to exist. Second, when Amahl was expelled from David's mind at the end of the first season, he wasn't destroyed, he simply floated to the next available body, so there's no compelling reason to assume that he wouldn't and couldn't just do the same thing if Oliver's body died. I mean, it could turn out that what you suggest is exactly his plan, but that seems like it would be totally inconsistent with what we saw during the first season. It also seems like it would be a very poor decision on Oliver's part because Amahl brought Lenny with him when he infected Oliver's mind. It's not really clear what the current incarnation of Lenny even is. Is this Lenny's actual consciousness, that left the body when it died, or is this just an image of Lenny built from David's memories? Remember, Lenny died because it was actually Syd's consciousness in David's body (while David was in Syd's body) and Syd was unable to control David's powers. If it is Lenny's consciousness, how was Amahl able to do that under those circumstances? Was Amahl attached to David's consciousness or to his actual body? In other words, did he trap Lenny's consciousness in David's brain (while Syd controlled the body) or in David's consciousness (which was in Syd's body)? Regardless of the method, the fact that Lenny was trapped in Oliver's mind despite Oliver having never met Lenny at all implies that Amahl can transfer more than his own consciousness into other hosts, he can even bring others he has imprisoned with him. Amahl could potentially keep an aspect of Oliver trapped within even when Oliver dies and Amahl moves on to the next host, essentially making him a prisoner for eternity, or at least until the Shadow King was destroyed for good. The fact that he conversed with Lenny implies that he should be able to recognize that an eternity as a mental prisoner of the Shadow King, unfazed by bodies that die or reject him, is a likely possibility he should best avoid. I would think that if Oliver were going to sacrifice himself, it would only be safe to do it once the Shadow King was no longer in control of his body (which would also kind of defeat the purpose of sacrificing himself). Oliver seems like he should be a bright enough guy to see the error in such a plan, so I'm thinking he must have something else in mind. I could not begin to imagine what that is, though.

I guess the last scene with Amy turning into Lenny foreshadows Oliver turning into the shadow king. Thus one plus one equals one. This would give David the opportunity to confront the shadow king physically in his original form. I guess the shadow king had that device made for him and used it to jump bodies throughout history.

I feel like this episode also hinted at Lenny and Oliver not actually being 'controlled' by Farouk. Lenny mentions that the 'evil lenny' wasn't real and Farouk asks Oliver how he feels about all this killing as if Oliver was himself the entire time. One last thing is that Lenny mentions to David that the shadow king showed them what he wanted them to see. So I'm just wondering, were the Oliver and lenny versions of the shadow king actually conscious and somewhat in control? Priot to this i thought Farouk just used their appearance

Some observations that could mean nothing. Green light: door closed Red light: door open. Seems like the opposing color theme sticks. In that same thought... New Lenny has blue eyes. Opposite of Yellow on the color wheel? What it would mean? No clue... Ptonomy again is struggling with the bug thing. A bit later Lenny tells David she has "spiders" in her head. Still think it's the delusional chick messing with ones mind and growing into the minotaur. Just like the yellow monster grew bigger when David's fear / stress grew. In times of stress or using a hallucinant (the vaping) we see the minotaur. Apart from singing the exaxt line the android used in the season premiere she also says she dreamed she had a mustache just like the android things. Almost like she dreamed being that android...

Your theory about the Admiral and the actual physical form of the Delusion, gives me a theory about the Admiral. I think that the Shadow King is using the Delusion to show everyone at Division 3, the Admiral is actually a BiggerBad mutant than the Shadow King. The Admiral wants to use David to find the Shadow King's body to destroy it, so he(the Admiral) can take over in his evil plans and the ShadowKing is the lesser of the two evils that they have to work with to stop the Admiral. If they don't stop the Admiral then the future Sid comes true. That's why they have to "HELP HIM"... *MY HEAD HURTS*

It was more than a reference. Remeber, him turning in to ash was filmed way before IW came out, and Leny's bullets turning in to bubbles shows that the Legion writers knew those 2 aspect of IW script, which means that Legion is MCU, and maybe, just maybe The Shadow King might be the secret weapon against Thanos, and this is why Syd considers crucial that The Shadow King gets his body back, to fight Thanos along side David.

Well it's obviously not in the Disney MCU. But I think it's possible for it to eventually crossover with other XMen stuff. There are ways to do that given the nature of the main character.

I don't think we were seeing Lenny's backstory, guys...I think it was a lot darker. I think we were watching the shell of Lenny/Benny forming memories out of the shreds of David's sister and turning them into herself. The Shadow King is making it extra hard for David to get rid of Lenny (also, yay Aubrey) Also: Are we sure that destroying the Shadow King's corpse is a good idea? What if the reason things took so long is because nobody could figure out how to destroy his corpse without setting him free and making him stronger...and that knowledge is now only in hands that people are being taught to be suspicious of?

You guys hit it on the head!!! People lose interest after confusion. I personally love the show and with this unreliable narrator it definitely leaves a lot of room for a conspiracy theorist like myself, and I think they could come in almost at second to Mr. Robot when it comes to the writing. Intruders was a great show on BBC America but the storyline was confusing and it didn’t get renewed for a second season, but it starred Milly Bobby Brown playing this creepy little girl role and her acting was displayed so well in this show I personally believe it was a better performance than her breakout out role on Stranger Things. That girl was a star and I knew it from that show, but confusion set in early and that show was axed. I love Legion and plan to continue to watch but I do believe if people are confused that they will definitely continue to lose viewers, and I’d hate to see another great show with great actors axed again. But it happens a lot.

Lenny's body swap is a set-up for later in the season. They need to show you how body swaping tech works. Shadow king needs a stronger alive body because his body is dead and David will be his body double. So the show set it up early so later you wont question it. Trading his sister's body also allows for him to chase the Shadow King and be out in the open. Then the Shadow King can take over his body.

They aren't exploring David's powers enough...he is an immensely powerful mutant and all he does is look confused and wander about so far this season....i have been really disappointed by the decision to hold him back. He needs a mentor or someone to help him explore his powers...they all seem to be clueless this season and not even trying to talk to each other or work with each other it is very fragmented, but maybe that is what they are trying to convey. After David's mind becomes free from the Shadow King...I guess he would be fragmented and looking to find who he really is and be unsure of himself.....after all the Shadow King was messing with his mind since he was a baby. But still it is very frustrating to not see him even try to explore his powers....I would be if I was him :D I would be honing that teleportation power for sure ;) I am still pretty sure the entire series so far has all been happening inside David's head, but it so freaking hard to work out if anything is real...which makes me think this is all just David trying to find himself and become Legion and destroy the Shadow King.

One plus one may be david and Oliver teaming back up becoming possibly one entity. I think Farouk’s downfall is his perception of reality. He believes in such a psychological idea of reality that whatever he knows to be true is true. Although he may believe that getting this body will make him all powerful and unstoppable he forgets about outside factors and other perceptions of reality. He calls Oliver clever maybe because Oliver is starting to understand that Farouk doesn’t like other perceptions of reality that aren’t his own and that’s his weakness

One of Farouk's weaknesses seems to be his arrogance and belief he's so much better than everyone, like a god over them. That causes him to underestimate people like Oliver and David, who will take him down.

I didn't saw it coming (the body swap) because, right now, I'm just enjoying the ride. I don't try to solve misteries or to develop theories because everytime I think I have figured something out, it turns out I was so wrong! LOL Aubrey Plaza should win every acting award available. I think Amy knew more than she lead on... the fact that she knew who Oliver was, knew he was taken over/bad... I feel like there is more to her character than we thought. Also, I am really hoping her mind is actually trapped in with Lenny inside her body, since her memories are still there.

About the creepy bug, it sure cannot be physically real? Because how could it get into David and Syd's white room (pun not exactly unintended) on the astral plane? It does seem more like and idea crawling around than anything. And about Amy, I think she's there inside with Lenny. She did call Clark "Ben", and that makes me think when David asked why she came to him and she answered "Because I missed you", it was Amy, who was interrupted immediately by Lenny taking over.

I thought putting Lenny back in her body was some sort of test run for the Shadow King -- does the Shadow King even know how to put himself back into his body??? And when Lenny wasn't put back in her body, it means that Shadow King isn't going to put himself back into his in the same way -- Shadow King is going to track down his decayed body and use the device to manipulate David's body and steal his.

It's kind of interesting that the Vermillion exists as an opposite of what David represents. David is a single body with a fragmented mind, while the Vermillion is a single mind fragmented into multiple bodies.

The ultimate goal of the Shadow King is to claim him his body and become all powerful. With the transfiguration of David's sister into Lenny it is the a slap in the face to David... ending his sister and baiting David. With the trap set and with the Shadow King demonstrably able to displace a consciousness and replace it and augment form all that's missing is retrieving a sample of his original form and David to be all triumphant because anything less would be defeat.

TokyoBlue yeah, the barrier for entry is pretty high. For every 1 person I can successfully convert into a fan of the series I know about 7 other people who would consider the narrative style or subject matter a non-starter. I had the exact same issues with Hannibal. Both series have the misfortune of NOT being available on Netflix. Hopefully Legion doesn’t follow Hannibal into the scrap heap.

I agree. I saw the Amy reveal coming a mile away, and it didn't help that she hadn't been in the show all season. Furthermore, I never really liked her as a character anyway, so I wasn't sad to see her go. Still, it was a really dark and horrific scene when she was turned into Lenny, so kudos to the director for that. So yeah, very much style over substance. But hey, with style this good, I'll forgive them.

I feel the reason they started the scene with David and Lenny like that, was to give David a controlling look, he was there without a care in the world, he believed he was more powerful than the shadow king "he's only a mutant", "I'm protecting you now" and then it went from this to him crying at the door being held by Lenny so quickly. I wonder also if Oliver is just playing The Shadow King, he says he doesn't care about killing people yet didn't seem too happy about killing Amy. Also with the '1 + 1' not equaling 2, is this Oliver's way of planting the seed of delusion into The Shadow King? In the monologue of when Oliver is describing delusion, how much of this is under The Shadow King's? The monologue's with The Shadow King's influence we hear his voice from time to time, but not in the delusion one (As far as i remember, i need to rewatch it), could this possibly be why Melanie's minotaur is all grown up? It was planted along time before all this. Also what if this mean Oliver is the main bad guy, not The Shadow King like yous believed earlier? I love this show...

I waited 24 hours for this video only to not have my question answered - which leads me to believe I'm an idiot and maybe it was more obvious to everyone else. But can someone/anyone clarify the whole Lenny/Amy situation? I get that they somehow transformed Amy into Lenny (right?), so why did Lenny crawl out of a grave? I'm soooooo confused about that whole entire sequence. Halp!

Lenny's real body is dead. The consciousness the Shadow King he held to manipulate David and the DNA of Lenny, found in the monk's temple transformed, Amy's body into Lenny at the cost of her body with a DNA gun. The transformation of Amy into Lenny does not make Lenny alive, because of the numerical properties of the sameness being, since she is only a consciousness of what the Shadow King had collected for his plans to torment and become the warning to David as Farouk (Shadow King) when he took the form of Oliver to transform Amy into a false (not really) Lenny, which had previously become trapped within the mind of the Shadow King. The purpose of the Shadow King doing this helped him make David believe that his body could ressurect in the same way by using the bodies of more people who loved him unconditionally even though his body does not exist anymore.

KTnarnia - Well the short answer is David is psychic and the Shadow King wanted to make sure David figured out what happened first hand in the most horrific way. I'm positive that his plan required this to happen. To do that, he needed to make Lenny completely oblivious to what happened so she wouldn't tell any of the first interrogators what she didn't know. All she knew was that she woke up in the desert where she was originally buried (where Division 3 buried her), and that's exactly what she told cane guy with the burnt face. Ptonomy then tried to examine her memories and couldn't find anything besides some screwed up thoughts because she, herself, doesn't remember what actually happened. The Shadow King must've scrubbed any of her memory right after the transformation happened. Then David wasn't even aware what happened after scanning Lenny's thoughts, and he only actually found out about it by finding traces of Amy's memories in the body Lenny is in. This forced David to actually SEE the gruesome act of what actually happened to Amy and he saw just how much pain she was in when she was horrifically turned into Lenny. He likely would not have telepathically viewed this image if Lenny had just up and told him it was Amy's body she was in. This made it 100 times more mentally scarring for David, which is why he's in a fetal position in the last shot and it will likely shatter his mind and powers, which we get a glimpse of in the next episode when we see him living a life of multiple personalities.

It was probably to piss off David. Her sister was killed and her body literally sent to tell him personally that she died. The old body is buried in the desert as he said. Old lenny still buried, new one is his sisters body.
