FYI - syd said it was about 20 mins and she lived a lifetime luved how this ep just about completely flipped the "typical" legion "aesthetic" and went full disney/brothers grimm fairy tale - noah hawley should do some sort of musical too, since he loves to blend music and story with legion soo much!! and yeah another brilliant episode, shame that The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long, and you have burned so very very brightly, legion! i hate that this series is ending!

This just occured to me, the time eaters is a natural existence. They eat the present that is about to be changed, they prepare it for the new future which are about to come by changing the past. They're essentially a clean up crew for time. So time eaters are inevitable which would explain them appearing again, cuz it's their job . When they are done eating a new future can be created. So if David kills all the time eaters, preventing the process in which a fresh timeline is made. Potentially it could create a branch in time or collision of the two timeline.

Yeahh I think you missed the point. The world went is currently going to hell because instead of trying to help David they tried to villainize him. Throughout the series Syd lacked empathy, this was made clear early in season 2 when David hopped into her mind to save her from the coma. She's always handled her issues in an antagonistic matter, this the reason when she was being manipulated by Farouq, she was quick to pull a gun on David despite the fact that he was there to help her. This action set the world on its course now, David's already fragile mentality along with the lesson Syd tried to teach him in her mind, along with the betrayal caused him to snap and his multiple personalities to take over. She set the world ablaze and now with empathy she has the chance to fix it

What's the moral of the story in the three little pigs and little red riding hood? They went meta deep with this episode. Morality was a major theme here facing life's toughest questions and being ok with the answers. It was really striking to me when the wolf first wants to teach the baby about sexually transmitted diseases. An absolute abhorrent predatory beast. And the benevolent mother and father knew that there were some things she couldn't figure out too early to set her values straight. She needed a strong moral centre or foundation where she could see truth from. THE TRUTH. And what is the truth? It's something only her moral center can help her figure out. The wolf came from the place of deceit. From wolf, she will be lost not being able to see what's really real. Notice the reactions of her fellow comrades when her mind finds its way back to her body. They say she seems changed. This is a subtle hint at the rebirth, her rebirth. She fell into an under world losing something painfully (having to be a vulnerable infant). But she realised (with a different, strengthening pain) something new and brought that back up with her. This is a telling of a typical fall/hero story we all live in the humble struggle of our lives. Can't wait for the next episode. Amor Fati ;)

This episode was Syd's hero journey. Now that she has her body back, what exactly is she trying to stop David from doing? Why is she so intent on killing him? To stop him from changing one thing from his past -- to prevent the Shadow King from entering in his mind as a baby? The Shadow King killed and terrorized a bunch of people while Syd was in David's life. Yet she somehow thinks the world is at stake if David tries to prevent that from happening? This entire season has been predicated on the idea that David is going to destroy the world. If time travelling to the past and trying to change a single terrible event in David's life is such a calamitous threat, why didn't Syd kill the one person who makes it possible in the first place -- Switch? Because David is the villain and Syd is hero, I guess. Alrighty then. And let's not forget that David could have easily killed Syd and Cary/Kerry if he wanted too. But I guess there would be no drama in the show and Syd wouldn't fully become the hero she was destined to be and murder the person she used to love. We're all rooting for you, Syd.

Great points. I mean, the Birds could have raised a baby David right and the show would have no hero/villain showdown. I did not think the writing was strong enough last season to make me feel Syd was the hero and David the unredeemable villain who broke bad. I feel David is the product of circumstances thrown on him by Division Three, Summerland and Future Syd. Like he kept things from people because Future Syd told him too. I agree with you that David could have killed Syd and Cary/Kerry if he wanted to be he did not. He as made cult members disappear but I thought maybe some of these people were figments of his mind. The only people I have seen David kill are Division Three people and Vermillions who are robots and by the show’s standards very replaceable. They usually attack him, other than that one guy who plead for his life. I do believe David has done bad things, but is bad at being the ultimate bad guy, because from the writing, I just do not get this. But like you say, Syd is the hero and delusion begins with an egg. And Syd has already killed David three times, why not a fourth? :)

Remember how David was before his admission into Clockworks, specifically, the scene of 'Lenny' and David using a blue substance to intoxicate themselves? David must be trying to return to a place of "safety" or at least comfort before Sid or his awareness of the Shadow King. David is trying to artificially separate the feelings of (for lack of a better term) ignorant bliss from the destructive chaos that brought it into being. However as we all should know, David is not at peace with himself and therefore destroying peace around him. [ these are just my opinions. ]

Syd is the only one who has managed to kill David -- twice! She exploited David's puppy dog affection for her to shoot him in the back twice and also take over his body. David's mental health problems have prevented him from doing the most logical thing -- killing Syd and anyone else in his way. Farouk could have killed David, but he at least wanted to salvage David's life. Now maybe Syd has a new perspective after living a whole other life with Melanie and Oliver. But that's yet to be seen. For all we know, she may still want to kill David to save the world.

The wolf was more than just a predator, he represented the truth, but more so the bad truth of things. He was obsessed with talking about all the bad things in the world, like STDs for example. He was there to remind anyone looking for an escape, what the real world (in his eyes) was like. I thought he was very well cast and played the role quite well.

Even if David and his dad defeat Farouk in the past and even kill him, the Farouk of the future was sent to the one place that is outside of time! By David and Switch going deep into the past and unleashing the time demons, another tear will open up and allow Farouk to escape. So I think Farouk could live on.

Syd uses David's affection for her against him. That and his mental problems keep him from eliminating her as a threat. I also think Farouk could easily kill David but he loves David and wants to mold and control him because of David's emense potential. The show writers clearly designed it this way otherwise there would be no prolonged narrative.

Well to me the only one who's gonna stop david is charles, or at least charles must to play a roll in all this. It's all a plan of Sk and Sk hates charles and what's better revange than make your nemesis soon as evil and bad as you. To me it's going to end with sid and david living a happy end in the astral zone, and charles will sent david there.
