In my opinion ist NOT worth to use void torrent when entering voidform, aslong as you dont have enough haste in your build yet. This is mainly because you get more of it later when insanity consumption is higher and you have a harder time to keep it up, also resulting in more lingering madness stacks after voidform since you would have dropped out earlier. The argument that you might get 2 squeezed into one voidform is also negated by missing haste because you wont keep voidform up long enough in most fights since you sometimes Need to move and cant cast your mindblast for insanity. Also the fact that you should never use voidtorrent and mindbender at the same time is in my opinion also wrong since when your at low insanity and have no mindblast or voidbolt up, while likely your mindbender is already running, this combination can get you back up to 100% insanity because you still generate insanity through your mindbender and DoT-Insanity Regeneration from passive stacks. This allows for a longer voidform since you get a few more voidbolts/mindblasts in afterwards too. Granted this overlap most of the time happens/is worth when you use mindbender too late. (Same thing for Mindbender/Dispersion overlap). Apart from these points great guide, keep up the good work :D Ps: I would love if Blizzard actually tried to make voidcrash more viable by giving it a DoT-spread when you sue it on a target with your dots, which would esspecially for mythic + be a really useful spec esspecially in heavy aoe dungeons, where multidoting with (i think its) misery is still really awful since you drop dots on the first enemy when you dot the last (that only happens on really big pulls, but it is still way to annoying) xD

I imagine SP is your main? :D I also agree on the Void Torrent however, I usually try to aim the guides for low-mid-range geared players(often get a bit carried away...) and found the use of Void Torrent in the begging better overall. Either way, I pinned the comment and hope other people see it! And indeed on the aoe, it is painful...

I actually main Discipline atm, but i mained Shadow since Nighthold until this raidtier and still play it sometimes :D

I main holy so my experience is very limited as Shadow and I've been wondering the same thing. I've come to conclusion that early torrent is less gamble and you get extra 1+ torrents worth of damage (and any subsequent after the first will still do almost the same damage, thanks to lingering insanity). The gamble being that if mechanics cause you to drop void form early before the cooldown is done, you now have it sitting ready and doing nothing. While if the same happens with early torrent, you will still be able to use it on cooldown, it just shifts slightly later in to the form. If that makes sense :P

you can save your shadow fiend and void torrent till 45 stack then when you drop under 50 insanity you can yous your find and void torrent so that will keep you till 52 stack then your fiend will help you to get in to 54 to 57 stack and if you have good items from there you can break 60 stack of haste

Super complicated spec. Be nice to have a talent that applies mass dots on trash mobs for pve and dungeons. Aflocks are the same. Helpful vid ty

So I've been playing Shadow for a while now. The single target is really good...in voidform that is. Outside of voidform it's just crap. There's practically no reasonable burst besides Void Erruption, so the spec has a long ramp-up time. It is very fun to play though.

what is your ilvl and ST dps? im around ilvl 900 and im doing like 600 k ST dps..

banmia suadi I’m finishing LFR boss fights around 550k at ilvl 882 on my spriest, with 11% haste. Maybe you need to readjust to preferred talents and take a look at your rotation, and uptime of void form. If I had better rolled gear at my ilvl I could be rippin. I also have zero legendaries yet. Keep trying bud.
