I loved dragon age origins, I used to play d&d so it was a wonderful experience for me. Classes and party development mattered, mages used magic, rogues detected traps and could do long range and sneak attacks, fighters were tanks that could distract enemies from your physically weaker companions while kicking butt, decisions mattered and there was consequences, I loved all the characters and cared about all of them. Was sad to see it end after awakening, as buggy as it was I still liked it, was severely disappointed with da2 and just stopped bothering with the rest.

ME2 was the first game they released after the EA merger and it is immediately apparent with the lobotomized writing and streamlining, replacing the fun mako exploration of planets with a lazy point and click strip mining hesitate to even call it a minigame. I actually really enjoyed DA2. It definitely didn't live up to its predecessor but the cast of characters it introduced are still the most beloved and recognized in the whole series (outside Morrigan) for a reason. It's a shame what they did to them in Veilguard (so I heard, refuse to buy it) but cmon, the Arishok was one of the best antagonists in a video game and definitely the best in the series and no I won't be taking questions.

They spent that money almost 20 years ago and got it back over the releases of Mass Effect 2-3 and the entire Dragon Age series, even with recent failures they’ve still come out ahead once you factor in how much profit 9 figures can generate just in money market accts.

Dont forget about David Gaider, he defended Veilguard. He was one of the reasons why BioWare fail. I refuse to believe that he could write HK-47 the way he was, if David had more freedom. The games he worked on was good not because he helped, but rather in spite of.

It is not just a studios name which makes great games it is the people working there. EA for shure made good people leave that made bioware what it was. So even without EA i don't think they could ever make a game like BG2, mass effect or dragon age origins ever again. What they can do now is "woke" games and to tell you how you must handle social minorities. Good gameplay is not on their radar anymore.

Are we just going to ignore the fact that the key developers of golden era Bioware went to make their own studio called Archetype Entertainment? They are about to release their first game called Exodus and is so similar to mass effect. Im confident that it will succeed where Andromeda failed. Because they didn't have to deal with all the corporate interference.

I see a lot of similarities between the fall of Bioware and the fall of Bethesda, they are delusionals, and can't see that the "magic" is not there anymore.

Before the fix, you also had to play multiplayer to be able to unlock all the endings in ME3. You couldn't gather enough points otherwise, When players pointed it out it was Walters, I think, that lied to people, saying it was possible. Players proved that it wasn't, but they just kept on lying. Until they fixed it. So many things were wrong with ME3 and its development. BioWare's biggest problem is and has always been management. They royally stink at time management, which has definitely bit them in the behind, over and over.

Dragon age the Veilguard is a return to form for BioWare. In all seriousness it was a soft reboot they intentionally hid from fans going as far as hiring dragon age series content creators on social media to help sell the product. Only after buying downloading and starting the game do you realize the lack of connection to the previous games. Which put the player in a position to start the game knowing the world they love is gone. The worldstate, the bespoke personal experience you spent three titles creating, has been completely eliminated. To avoid this criticism they use trans issues as a shield. Guaranteeing any criticism could be pigeonholed as anti-civil rights. All in service of hiding the soft reboot from players to boost sales numbers. And it worked they got the"anti-woke" KZbinrs talking about the game like they knew they would. And let's be honest it is one of the easiest groups to manipulate.

So why exactly is BioWare's fall worse then I think? Because I don't think it's a bad thing at all, I think it's a necessary consequence of their own making. If BioWare was the BioWare of old, the ones that made BG, KOTOR, ME 1 & 2. DA:O you'd have a point, but that BioWare no longer exists. The current BioWare hates us, lies to us, tries to cheat us out of money, insults us and doesn't even want to make games for us anymore then blames us when the game fails. Can't wait for ME5 to flop and EA to shut down this once great gaming studio.
