Thank you for giving me the courage. I also have a small tight simulator netting of only 4ft 9 inches from the screen. I only used soft proactice balls. But now you showed I can use a regualr balls for my short distance to the screen. In the past I was too scared. You freed me! Thanks again.

Nice review! One thing about this LM that I don’t quite get is… does it work outside in a place that’s always in the shadow? I have less light in my backyard that you have on your studio. Would it work?

Appreciate that! From what I’ve been told by a Square rep, direct sunlight/using it outside won’t damage the unit but it just won’t work well. Someone did a test at a covered range and it read 2/15 shots essentially rendering it useless. I was debating increasing my shade outdoors but opted for building out an indoor set up. For what it’s worth, they told me they definitely don’t recommend outside although nothing stopping us from trying. Personally I’m going to be using my Garmin R10 outdoors and the Square indoors!

Cool review, thanks. Does the swing stick in any way simulate the interaction between the club and ball: a thin/fat shot, open vs. closed club face etc?

I'm thinking this could be a good intro for my nephews... With 7 and 8 years, it's easier to swing and see the ball flying, get them hooked!

Love it! Definitely geared more towards beginners or maybe traveling with limited space. Personally I’ll rarely use it but as you mention, maybe I’ll break it out for younger friends and family!

I have the LM and it’s good for (in my opinion) working on balls striking and shot shaping with higher lofted irons and that’s about it. It is not correct in my distance for longer clubs at all. I know what I hit on the course, I’ve done it multiple times. It’ll spit out a 135 carry on my 7 and I’ve blasted my 7 well over 170 out greens. I threw the swing stick it came with away. It feels like it doesn’t read ball speed and spin rate remotely correct.

Interesting! Love hearing other people's experiences! So far, mine seems to be very accurate and matches my swing feels every shot. Haven't hit driver in my new set up yet but everything up to 3w seems pretty spot on. Wonder why your longer clubs aren't as accurate. What ball setting do you use on the Square range?

@@HoselRocketGolfI’ve set it to their premium setting but I think it has something to do with my garage. I hit at a track-man member place for a year then bought this LM to remove that monthly cost. I’ve read online that grey garages can really mess with value LMs Doppler lasers. I’ve seen my trackman numbers, I believe that over what I’ve seen with this LM. Regardless of my complaint, I still believe the value for money is top of the line in the golf monitor market. Especially since they just partnered with GS pro for a better software usage.

@@HoselRocketGolfanother thing to note based on your swing stick ball speed, it gives you poor distance reading. Assuming you have a good smash factor and low 1k to 2k spin, a 150+ ball speed should total you 260-270 yards with a real driver. Not 234 that it read to you.

@@Nxla-92751 Spin and smash are probably killing some distance with my driver amongst other technique flaws. Usually I average about 265 total. Going to be ramping up speed this winter and try to get my average up!!

Battery worries - Why? Can't you keep the charger always plug in? By always pluged in - its always 100% charged 24/7 - never use the battery - correct?

That is correct. You can use it while plugged in. However, my current protective case makes it difficult to charge. Also, the battery is rated for 8 hours so with it only being a week old, you’d expect no issues

IMO, it's worthless. Had the Square Golf LM for about a week and sent it back. Fighting with the company for my refund. Buyer beware!

This more sound like a very biased thing to say or a competition troll. i own both Rapsodo and square now. and they both have their strengts but nothing absolutely noting points to sending either back, i allways only complained about subscriptions

I agree. It’s possible that person got a bad unit that literally doesn’t work but didn’t sound like that lol
