Your first mental thought at the tee box should be to use a real tee.

Is 50% of no club data reads with just driver or with other long clubs (3 wood/5 wood/3 iron) also? Have you tried moving the sticker up or down the shaft slightly to see if you get more reads? Knowing your AoA on driver is very important to improving your game. Also do you feel spin numbers are good? Did you update your app to the latest v1.30 or still on the original ( whatever number that is)?

For the driver misreads, I read in the comments somewhere that a guy tried elevating his Square unit a couple of inches and that helped. He thought the bottom camera on the unit could not get a good pic of the ball that was elevated on the tee.
@HoselRocketGolf
@HoselRocketGolf 7 күн бұрын
Thanks for the tip! I have seen this suggestion as well. The user manual says "The launch monitor should be placed on a flat ground at the same height as the golf ball" so I've been sticking with that. If my new black tees don't solve most of the misreads, I'll likely try raising the unit a bit!

I have had a similar idea to this for awhile but haven't gotten around to do it yet. I had questions if the plexiglass would affect the monitor. Plus does the lip on the bottom affect the monitor. Right now I have my monitor sitting on another mat butted up to my hitting my and sometimes I feel like the crease between my two mats affect my monitor sometimes. Idk though.

So far, no noticeable affect of the plexiglass. Works great as far as I can tell. As for the lip, the second sheet of plexiglass is on the bottom of the milk crate so it sits flush!

Just a tip bro.... Long ago I learned not to stick my nose in it unless asked. However, I did not want to see you hurt yourself so please take this for the intention I mean it in... You're swinging a bit over the top. If you try to increase speed before you fix that you will just hit worse and more of a chance of hurting yourself. Speed comes mostly from leverage and timing of your release, not brute force so simply hitting it 'harder' will not be the way to go... that is until your swing and timing settles a bit into a better synchronization... it will also help with impacting the club in the sweet spot more. The really big hitters have both proper synchronization, timing and strength of course.... Try initiating the downswing from the ground up more and have a mental picture of swinging your club slightly out to the right on impact while letting your mind square the club to the target. A bit of a feeling that the club stays at the top until it is drawn down by the lower body and hips before you fire the bigger lat muscles, then the arms and hands. Just by getting the club down the line to slightly in-to-out you will naturally increase speed. I'm only about 5'9" at best, but when I was younger I averaged at least 295 swinging under control with my biggest drives out to 330/40ish (wish I could still do that). Not seeing the front view of course but that is what I see from the line. Keep at it. It seems you have the potential and the tools to get way better.

Wow, what a comment! I really appreciate this. I’ve never had a lesson so over the years, I have just built a swing that decently works. A lot of this syncs up with the following video that I am going to be tailoring my driver swing towards. I am going to be making a concerted effort this off-season to correct a lot of flaws. Please keep an eye out!

@@HoselRocketGolf wooo there, Ask yourself, what are my goals.... Controlled distance and on course scoring??? Or being gorilla man that your buddys take awe in your length off the tee? !!! They are two totally different things. For on a course scoring; leave your ego in the car. Lock that shit up in the trunk for NO-ONE to see! hahahah. Those violent moves will all but never produce lower scores. And will inevitably hurt your chances for longevity in the game/sport. Watch a long drive contest (which I'm sure you already have) and you will see the total inconsistencies in their shots. Their goal is NOT consistency, it is one shot that flies further than the other guys. That is it, ONE gloriously stuck shot. Bryson does not swing like that on course for score. When he does it gets him into trouble. But the ideas are somewhat the same. Just way more subtle! I will say however, the way he is explaining it will hurt the average guy. Way too violent! I did not say but I will now.... I was trying to become a professional golfer. I had all the natural talent in the world, but not the durability that it took! Plus I got a late start which exaggerated the problems I had. So believe me. It is fun casing more distance but not practical unless you do it smartly! I would study two books along with your journey. One is the book from Ben Hogan. I think it is called, "5 Lessons, The Modern Fundamentals" or something like that.... And I really did get a lot from a book from Bob Toski, I don't remember the title but it had a bunch of pictures of top golfer's swing positions. The reason is that there is no ONE way to swing. But there are position points that are imperative to optimal ball striking due to physics and the structure of the human body. .... Damn, I should write a book! lol! Good luck my friend.

I am going to go for the Eye Mini Lite LM, after seeing all the issues with SQUARE. Also, I got to hold a SQUARE unit this week and it's seriously flimsy. It reminded me of an old 70's radio my dad used to have. SQUARE should make another, quality, version and sell it for $1500. I dread to think how the current unit will perform in a few years time.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I'm sure you'll love the Eye Mini Lite! To each their own, but I have enjoyed my unit so far. I have seen some issues in forums/groups but worth noting they have sold thousands and thousands of units so there are bound to be some dud units. By all accounts, they are replacing units with any issues. Given it's still only 2 months old, I'm confident the unit will keep getting better with frequent firmware updates!
