Well these had IRS and the equivalent GT still had a straight axle, which I feel is what makes the stang so know as a crown smasher. Even the new IRS models have a tendency to put more power down on one side.

Only because of the transmissions they used this generation of Camaros were lighter than the present generation the only reason current gens are faster is because of the transmissions they get the 10 speed automatics and 8 speed automatics and they both had the 6 speed tremec transmissions but the newer ones have a newer 6 speed manual but if there was a way to pair that A10 and A8 transmissions with these 5Th gen Camaros it wouldn’t even be close and like you said tuning available
