Got full bolt ons of course, had head decked, ported/polished, oversized inconel valves, stiffer springs w/titanium retainers, stage 3 cams, stainless 3” custom exhaust, titanium turbo manifold, intake, catless, gtx3576 gen2. The tune is severely handicapped I’m making roughly 400awhp tops because I’m still running stock block and bottom end. Sequential going in when that happens. Yes it’s laggy, I bought this bigger turbo knowing it will not be street friendly but when the block and bottom end is done, then the sequential goes in it will be much more streetable. Bigger turbos suck on the street especially when you have a manual like me but when you shift with the sequential you might lose a pound or so. The biggest thing with the sequential is they have to be tuned correctly to work with the ecu.

49:50 These cars for a very long time were considered the cheapest 10 second car you could buy. Simply because you could bolt on a larger turbo, gate, controller, push them to near 400hp and run in the 10's. Heck the factory turbos with some jimmy rig mods could get you to near 300hp. There's also loads of weight reduction you can do to mitsubishi's, they make their cars very sturdy, and a bit heavy for the size.. but the doors are heavy as hell, the back hatch is 100 pounds, hood is fairly heavy. There's many spots you can do some hole saw weight reduction as well. You can easily drop these from 2600 pounds to 2300 pounds with some carbon fiber stuff.

The first "fast" car I ever drove was an Eagle Talon TSi with a manual boost controller a Thermal R&D turbo back exhaust and a few bolt ons. I loved it. 22 years later I still have the turbo bug. Thanks DSM for that!

Absolutely love this series. I have a 98 spyder, and it’s a joy on the weekends!
