Everything else would be really tiny if it were to scale. :) I estimate this is about 1:225 scale (which means one standard LEGO brick height would represent about 7 feet).

No, the books are included (you can see them as I go on the table behind my tablet; this set has three books, one in each of the three boxes the parts are divided into). I just find the LEGO tablet app a little more convenient - don't have to hold pages open, can zoom in to double-check details, etc.

It's just a cell phone on a light-weight tripod, so it isn't perfectly stable. At regular speed, you don't notice it, but when I make the time-lapse version, it's obvious.
