Though I myself have never played chess extensively, this set is still impressive in its own right. At present, the sides of the board mark only the fifth appearance of the 2x4 angled roof tiles in "warm gold", which were introduced two years ago in two Ninjago sets (71770 and 71774). This is also the fifth set to feature 2x6 bricks in medium nougat, which were introduced in March of last year.

A standard chess set is quite boring to build with Lego. But I'd like to see chess variants with different board sizes, fairy chess pieces (Camel, Amazone, Grasshopper etc.) since those variants aren't available in the market and building them with Lego would solve this problem.

Don't you wish that Lego would design a different board game? I have nothing against Lego chess sets, but there's something on the back of my mind that tells me that they could design other board games.

How do you manage to build these sets without seeing the instructions, especially the Technic sets, it looks so smooth, as if the entire manual is fitted into your head and you just execute it out so flawlessly???

I get the impression that the instructions are off shot. If you watch enough vids you can see where mistakes are made which to me says the instructions are being used, just off camera. Makes sense too as then the shot is cleaner over all.

I build 50 to 100 pieces out of my head, means i place the pieces out of camera side and must memorize the steps watched before in the instructions
