Love this beginner series! I am looking to invest in Lego and loved how you not only talk about Price and Retirement date, but also how much you value some sets and quantity you buy/wanted to buy. Obviously everyone has different budgets for purchasing but hearing you talk about how much you bought or how much you want to buy gives insight on your investing thoughts, which is something I definitely need help with

While purchase price is important, nothing compares to future demand, in shear profit potential. Predicting that, however, is the art. Purchase price quickly becomes a moot point when you check going rate on a case of a particular set and see that the price has trippled or better.

Would it not be better just to apply to be a retailer and buy at trade prices sell sets on a day to day basis and then hold onto the sets that have investment potential? Making $20 a set with the risks of in some cases breaking even or selling at a loss with all of your overheads, inflation and time looks to me to be a difficult way of making money?

Liked and Subscribed. Thanks for your videos. Don’t forget to mention using browser extensions to resale metric companies ( Rakuten, TCB). Also how to responsibly use credit card cash rewards cards to get 3.75-5.75% cash back and loyalty points programs like at Lego and Kohls cash. Also don’t forget that learning a retailers return/price match policy will save you a lot of $$$$$$. Avoid Barnesandnoble at all costs. Make a list of sources for finding Lego sets. Locally, regionally, nationally, internationally…. I am always learning and love your videos. Keep it up and set up a paywall for premium info, example above.

What a coincidence. After a great childhood i regained my interest in Lego 2 years ago. Two weeks ago i selected a set to keep and sell years later. So I can say i just started investing in Lego. Im curious for your advices. At the moment i have some you could say basics to choose sets. I look for good prices as well as how much potential there is for minifigs to increase the price. Also a very important factor in my opinion is that i prefer to pick sets i personally like so if the dont increase in resale price, I at least can be proud to have them in my collection.

How much do you have to pay in taxes to sell Lego as a business? You talk about ROI a lot, but if you factor in income tax, you're making less so I was hoping you could address that. Thanks.
@JakesBricks2 жыл бұрын
That’s a great point! Yes you do have to claim income tax each year and that does affect the bottom line. But I am certainly not making enough profit to live on… and I can write of business expenses. My tax person helps me a lot.
