This is brilliant, Robin. I have worked for the circus for many years and seeing a German Wheel on the cargo train is awesome! I have 2 notes that might make it even better.... 1, place one of the artists 180⁰ opposite the other to make it look like they are holding each other up while making it spin. 2, change out their faces with ones that are painted crazy. ( the Rocker Girl, any Ninjago, or Native American head piece you have on stock. They don't need to match) Those 2 small changes will add the details that would make it pop.

You've reoriented your locomotives to create a DPU (Distributed Power Unit). Having two up front, and two in the middle should help alleviate the stresses, especially at the back half of the train. Like the new car. Hope those skaters took their Dramamine this morning... 🙂

@lieffian
@lieffian 2 жыл бұрын
I would have placed it behind your elephant wagon for two reasons 1- it adds more to the carnival/circus feeling 2- to add a little comedy to the scene no matter what end you put your new car at as the front gives the elephant some entertainment or at the back where the Acrobats have to worry about the smell and “droppings” coming from the rear end which could be accentuated from either end with dizzy or sick faces

Usually, i find too bad that the thumbnail of the video spoil your result of the day, but this time, as the best tricky part was well hidden, i was mind-blown ! Very ingenious build ! Turn your blue locomotive, 180 degrees, so it is driving backwards. This would make it together with your Red locomotive, into a double unit. The front of your train, now looks under-powered, will you start to add more locomotives to her? Will you go for two Hidden Sides locomotives or else for two Cargo-train that is now out of production, yet still in the shops? You should be able to remove one driving cab from the later loco's and turn them into a double locomotive setup, as well. Lego Creator Locomotive 10277, if you can still get her, is also a nice option, especially if you turned the blue locomotive around. Would give you a nice three unit pulling the train, with room to add more. But can you add more locomotives to your cargo-train? Ever thought about getting two Hogwarts Express sets in order to create a Garrett or a Mallard? Or perhaps four in order to fuse the two concepts, while getting a even bigger boiler. It would set you up for quite a few wagon builds, so there is that one. True, lots the same there, but with the right setup, you could go with seating class from 1 to 4 and several different scenes as well. Another thing for you to make, a classic mail train (wagon) setup. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaWsmWeIrMqMpNU&ab_channel=GCRofficial

The sides give it a very circus feel with the drapey pavilon look. The ice skaters really do look like acrobats. Is there some kind of bar or scarf type piece that they could be both holding like they are tethered together for the act? I think it needs a bit of red or something to balance out the blue and yellow centerpiece. Maybe a swirly parasol would create an illusion of secondary motion if its near the center? It looks like it was a pretty involved process to get the mechanism to fit but the build looks fantastic as a train car and better than if it had been set up as a standstill fairground attraction. It's too bad the donor set's horse body is all in one piece or I would have suggested using the front half for a mythical hippocampus in the water cabinet. But maybe if the back legs were concealed in rock or foliage we could create the mermaid tail for the back half of it and make it work? The black and white coloration makes me think killer whale, but the mythical nature and underwater location could make the weird proportions work. The smoother edges may also provide a nice texture variance. In that vein maybe some of the lego doll proportions could be used for other creatures such as aliens if their prints or customizability are favorible.
@RobinHoodBricks

The centrepiece is a good idea but Friends body pieces are very unlikely to make it into my builds, haha!

But idea one was build a log car that has seats or a hiding place for robin hood to hide in on the super long train. And idea 2 is. Maybe you should think about getting a 5th train to help the others out. Yes. You more then enough power and spacing them out to where it's multi-powered is a great idea. But what are you going to do when it gets longer? Your going to have to add a other train anyways. So why not add a fifth train now? So later on. The outer is fine. I have did motors and it pulls away easily. It just snaps due to weight on the normal magnets. This split power should solve it for a while now!

When the video started I thought ghat you would clear out a space in your city to add FRIENDS LEGO. THAT WOULD BE TRAGIC AND SAD BTW I HAVE A CHALLENGE :- Why don't you build a cargo train moc . that is how you get views
@RobinHoodBricks

This is a cargo train MOC. I've also done loads more, like a refrigerated wagon etc. Maybe you meant a locomotive!

@@RobinHoodBricks actually I did mean to say locomotive. Locomotive as in diesel instead of steam train.

Not sure what you mean there, but everything in my city has its own video so you'll just have to search for it. Things are grouped on playlists!

You really need to make the switch to Bricklink Studio, instead of Digital Designer. Not only is Digital Designer now defunct and Bricklink Studio officially supported, but the Studio feature set is enormously more rich than anything Digital Designer could offer. The render engine is particularly impressive, which I use to get a good idea of how colors will actually look before I buy them.

All true, except I'm ten times faster in LDD. I find Studio frustratingly slow as a result!
@kentslocum
@kentslocum 2 жыл бұрын
@@RobinHoodBricks Completely understandable. I started in LDD, too, but saw the writing on the wall and took the time to go through the Studio tutorial (which, by the way, now has a greatly expanded Help section). The real trick is to learn the names of pieces, so they can be quickly found with the search function. If you already are familiar with part names, it really shouldn't take you long to figure out the different controls.
