Very often you knock it out of the park Robin but just sometimes….. you knock it into orbit. I absolutely adore when you produce a completely different and original form of motion. This looks fantastic. Already I’m thinking how I can bring it to my carnival and oddities train. Maybe to have an aquarium car with some motion in a fish tank? Or possibly a giant popcorn car and use the motion to make popcorn move up and down in a big popping machine. You’ve certainly got my creative process going so thank you. I do genuinely wonder whether the best of your carriages from the giant cargo train could make up a really interesting ideas submission. And 90 years of Lego style journey through interesting themes and ideas with all different forms of motion. I can’t recall ever seeing anything quite like it and what an amazing way to immortalise your unique and fantastic cargo train. Just a thought

Another great train car build. The shaping of the platforms is a nice variety from the other more traditional designs on the train. I'd consider the Technic Cam (Part 6575) and see if it helps with the noise. I'm not sure if it'll fit or how much it'll change the motion. But if it's moving fast enough you should still see it 'float' and drop. Might make for a smoother rise and a sudden fall.

Maybe if you get the classic space ship, you could build it into an underground research center type area like the Men in Black. Maybe tying into the planned space cantina as an adjacent area- or maybe to go with the older classic part of the theme it could be an uncovered spaceship as an archeological find- maybe on the other side of a wall of a cave being excavated or explored in the ocean? I really like the side mounted horn pieces. The grungy chewed up arials could work well as old ends of pipes for sticking from a dirt wall, maybe with a bit of cutaway space for a plumber to be working on them. Perhaps they could be poking into the planned mine, or have the mine intersect a manhole/sewer section. For the noise, could an old tire or something be stuck on the end of the post and not inhibit the mechanism? The random motion bits look good.

I prefer the 90's space themes UFO RoboForce etc. with thier vibrant flourecent green and orange, for some reason those colors really lit up when exposed to light from like a flash light. Personally i would have made both craft the same height as the lower one looks more realistic as it hides the axel on the shorter one, but it looks good. Classic Space in Brick Nottingham ! 😍 Wonderful build once again ! The noise is terrible ! Is it worse in real ? I don't think the 1x2 rubber technic arm will work because you need the axle to slide smootly around the arm. But turning it into a piston will lose the random spin... so maybe a fixed piston with the space-hopper loosely resting on it. But how... There must exist a simple solution. 🤔

Nah, it's not too bad. Noisier than the rest though. I don't think the rubber will work either. Only a cushioned landing on the vertical axle will help, I think!

You may be able to use these to quiet the noise down a bit (45590 LEGO Technic Parts Axle Connector Double Flexible (Rubber) BLACK (2)

Amazing job. Are you thinking about putting some custom lights for your trains? Also how about replace battery box in train with buwizz?

My battery boxes are all rechargeable already so no need to change and I'm not going down the lights route. I have enough to do already, haha!

Because the motion is very similar, do you think a mechanism like the handcar would work there just to cut down on noise? I don't mind it too much, but it's not my train car. Overall, absolutely love the motion of it. Hilarious.

This is a lot more reliable and smaller. I think we can fix the noise another way, or just grow to love it!

Hey Robin, might have a solution for the noise issue, if you use cam wheels it should stop them from dropping down plus it would give a floating effect. Brilliant video 👍
@RobinHoodBricks
@RobinHoodBricks 2 жыл бұрын
If there is space for a cam wheel. Also, to be fair, it is the drop that creates the turn. Make it too smooth and they'll move a lot less!

Cool waggon :) Can't you use the 1x2 rubber connector instead of the liftarm? Should reduce the noise to zero.

Could you use those rubbery technic bits with two axle holes, kind of shaped like an 8? I'm not sure if it would have the same effect or reduce the noise.
